AoC-PvP:Guild Leader and Council
I'm a fan of the guild leader with council. While just a council seems more even/fair they tend to chase their own tail unless there's someone that has the almighty "buck stops here" button. I'd also like to see the guild leader to be changed every 3 or 6 months similar to what the WoW guys are doing.
Council would consist of the GL along with 4 or 6 others. We'd also have officer ranks which i suggest pretty much everyone that's there on the 20th. After that we'll have the different levels of newbie ranks.
As for the GL I was asked, and i declined. I asked Swat and he declined as well for almost the same reasons. We both have put time in leading previous guilds and was hoping to just play this time. Plus we have weddings (his real soon!) and trips that will take us out of game for extended times. We both said we'd be willing to be on a council though.
I'm nominating WiredAsylum for the kickoff round. We need someone to be the point-man to create the guild and get the ball rolling for the city when it comes time.

Based on the findings of the report, my conclusion was that this idea was not a practical deterrent for reasons which at this moment must be all too obvious.

I will accept the nomination. I am in favor of a rotation to give everyone a shot at running the guild.
I am also in favor of a council type leadership. I have run a few successful guilds in the past namely EQ and WoW and the most “successful” guild was in EQ where we just had a blast hanging out together and everything else fell into place. Back in EQ we had a council and I was the guild leader and the council was able to get 99% of all issues addressed and handled I was just there to settle disputes and help push us in the direction that the membership wanted to go.
Ultimately as it has been said before AoC is a very guild centric game. So what we do is going to be 100% based on what we all want to put in it what ever that is I am fine with handling the operational end of things.
Unless some one objects I plan to have the established and ready to tag people as soon as Sunday afternoon.

The cool thing is that at the start even the first level of guild recruit can do guild invites. So everyone should be able to get people in when they seem them.

I'm down for being a big help/council for the PvP side but like Ranalin said, there's a bunch of real life stuff coming up the next couple months so I will be a bit sporadic. So while I'll accept a position to help mold the way the guild goes and runs, I'd nominate Wired for the head cheese, main man in charge of this operation.
Would anyone else want to nominate themselves for the "Council" as well - those with a big desire to have some diplomacy dealing with other guilds, organizing raids, and general upkeep of the guild? I think it's pretty safe to say any Goodjer can nominate themselves for the role.

Before I get ahead of myself, I don't even know what rankings or what not there are other than Guild Leader. I really don't care either, because we're all equal either way, so it's just a silly title.
I think the main responsibilities would be managing guild relations with other friendly guilds, helping assist in decisions like what to do with the guild city, monitoring the guild bank and resources, etc. Maybe we should just see what happens before we start hashing this out?

Probably a good idea, I just threw my name in because I've been involved in these elements of guild life in past games and always enjoyed being able to help in that aspect.

I know we are all extreemly excited about getting this rolling and crushing some pict skulls. I am excited at the responses to step up right away.
But lets give it a few days into launch and take a look at how things are shaking out before we set to many definite plans.

From reading the official forums, its clear that excitement has reached a rabid level for this game. There are so many bitter folks who didn't think to sign up for early access, or got screwed out of it by their game shop. I've been on vacation all this week, will arrive home just in time to start the EA on Sat morning, but there are a lot of people going completely bonkers with impatience. I have a strong suspicion that Funcom has underestimated the crushing load of people they'll have next Tuesday.

Well I am home for at least a year so I'd like to be Rasputin to your Czar, no wait that didnt work out well for anyone. I would enjoy being council as well. So if you need me - I will be there. I will be gone from the 25th of May to the 2nd of June on my Caribbean vacation but I will be back after that.
