Civ 4 install bug
Thursday, May 15th, 2008 - 12:20am
I installed Civ. 4.
After the first disk i had a freeze up for some odd reason.
No folder was created withing my start menu, but a folder was created in program files.
So I put the disk 1 back in and it still won't work. I delete the folder under program files.
Still wont work.
Restart.
Still wont work.
In short, what do I do now?

Ignore boogle, his PCs have hookers inside of them.

Did you complete the install or it failed while installing?
Make sure it's not showing up in your installed programs list and try again?

Try opening the actual disk and running setup from there rather than relying on autorun. Setup may have made a registry key that's trying to open a folder that no longer exists. Barring that, search the registry for keys relating to Civ 4/Firaxis.

This morning I tried deleting the reg file using regking. Fail. I'll try setup.
*Edit*
did one more reg. clean and then ran setup. Works fine now.
