GWJ website painfully slow
Monday, May 12th, 2008 - 3:55am
Lately I've noticed that the website is running painfully slow for me, sometimes I have to press stop and try reloading. I know it's just this site because other sites load nice and zippy. Is anyone else noticing a major slow down with the site, or is there something going on at my end? Any suggestions?

Jeff got us shuffled over to a new box, seems to be doing much better now.
Yeah, it's scary. I'm staring into the abyss right now, and it's staring into me, which I think is kind of a dick move on the abyss's part. - Nyles
Did that happen last night? At around 11:30 Pacific, Grumpicus kindly IMed me to point out to me that GWJ was down. So sweet of him to ensure that I don't miss a GWJ downtime.

I woke up when the NFL Network started talking about David Garrard.

Thanks guys, the site is back to it's speedy self. You would think having grown up on BBS games, and being there for the beginning of the internet I would be more patient with slow loading time.

Any chance to have the Popular Forums Thread link off to the "new" posts as opposed to just take the reader to the start of thread. Would get users to the info they want on one shot instead of having to ping the server twice (once on the popular forums thread and then once on the "Last" page link).
