They showed bits of this at WonderCon a little bit back, looked INCREDIBLE. Can't freaking wait to see this.

Regardless, I'm definitely excited about this. The animated Clone Wars reminded me why I loved Star Wars despite Lucas' best efforts to kill those feelings with his live action films.

I'd be more pleased if they had kept the original 2D animated format. I really don't see why they needed to port it into 3D.
I'm quite pleased that this will be worth more in terms of happy joy joy feelings than the totality of the New Trilogy.

I actually thought the same thing at first (especially with the Yoda parts), but I got over it knowing that the creative force behind the animation is one and the same....

Did you guys ever watch the Animated Clone Wars on cartoon Network. I'm pretty sure it is supposed to be more like that the "real" life.
And since every "realistic" pure CGI film (aka Spirits Within, Beowolf, etc) has been bashed for the people not looking real enough, this was probably the best way to go.

The lip-sync, especially Yoda's, bugs the hell out of me. Otherwise, looks pretty good. Just hoping they give the characters some teeth and a tongue so it won't look so "last-gen video game CG cutscene"-ish.

I actually liked the animation style, very reminiscent of the 2D version. I think that the studios should stay more toward the realm of "cartoony" until the uncanny valley issue is resolved, if ever.
If they can keep the movement flowing and natural instead of static, then I will be watching.

I think they just pinched his style. I know he worked on the original Clone Wars 2D animated series, so they're apparently building off his designs.
While I liked his overall look, even as translated to 3D, I hope that's an oversight.

I could care less about real movie special effects on this franchise. I am more than excited to see a cartoon as long as they redeem the story.

And if they do cool sh*t with lightsabers. I've yet to see a lightsaber duel where somebody plants a lightsaber on another's gut and then switches it on. Why has nobody done that? With all the lightsaber-fu in Ep. III along with the culling of the Jedi, you'd think someone somewhere in the whole production process would think, "Hey, that'd be awesome!"
Well, all the old excuses are out the window. Being entierly CG, I expect to see things destroyed as a result of being present during a lightsaber duel. Columns, walls, plaster busts of Count Duuku, books, droids, etc,. I want Force powers used extensively. And not just the Force Push. How about pulling someone into your lightsaber? How about Force Holding while slicing? How about tossing lightsabers into a mass of foes? And for pity's sake must 3-P0 be the Greek chorus for every Star Wars tale?
Who am I kidding? Bad or good, I know I'll enjoy myself.

The collective abandonment of critical faculties that occurs whenever the internet sees a lightsaber ticks me off, is all. Nearly everything related to the franchise has been absolute rubbish for over a decade, but people still rush out to throw money at Lucas.
And really, that trailer is like watching someone play Lego Star Wars, only with added ugly.

While the prequels were merchandising monsters gone wild the core of the stories still matain the same feel as the originals. Plus the Clone Wars is something fans have been imagining in their heads for decades. Kinda hard to let things that were such a huge influence on your life to go byebye.
