Hey All,
Had the signup post up a day early so I could pull a fast one

Basically looking at the beginning of who has signed up already, I figure we can head back into Mag's Lair and Gruul's Lair starting at 7pm, and take our first shot at SSC on Sunday the 18th!

Please feel free to continue to use this thread for other interests as well, particularly Kara and ZA, but we'll see if we can have these two 25mans go on those two different nights!

Magtheridon's Lair & Gruul's Lair (Tuesday 7:30pm server start)
1. Krindle (Tank)
2. Zeletria (Tank/MDps)
3. Azorius (Tank)

11. Alaysha (Tank/MDps)

17. Cyrana (RDps - Mage)
18. Nukanatrix (RDps - Mage)
19. Grinders (MDps)
20. Sigsbee (RDps)
21. Lunazul (MDps)
22. Crazyivan (RDps)
23. Maloratus (RDps)
24. Terase (RDps)
25.

Special - Bearr (RDps) available at 8pm, Stormspain a 'maybe'. Thurgarn/Alaysha available by 7:30pm.

Needed: 2 Healers, 2 Dps. We have most bases covered
Everyone that is listed above should plan to run tonight, as we still had some room available. If we run a little late or short, Bearr will likely be able to jump in at 8pm.

Serpentshrine Caverns, Hydross & The Lurker Below (Sunday, 7pm server start)
1. Krindle (Tank) - Nature/Frost OT
2. Zeletria (Tank/MDps) - Nature MT

16. Cyrana (RDps)
17. Nukanatrix (RDps)
18. Sigsbee (RDps)
19. Lunazul (MDps)
20. Crazyivan (RDps)
21. Maloratus (RDps)
22. Adonfana (RDps)
23. Cinster (RDps)
24. Deinesaur (RDps)
25. ZeroKFE (RDps)

Special - Bearr available at 8pm server, Grinders & Shanker are current 'maybe's. Currently short 1 healer on an optimal set up. We still need our three other tanks to specify whether they are going for Frost (need 2 more) or Nature (1 more)

These two bosses have a slightly different Raid Makeup. I'm expecting we should use 4 Tanks, 7 Healers and 14 DPS, including CC. As well, Tanks should have some resistance gear for the Hydross fight, Frost or Nature to make it go smoother (either for the trash or for Hydross).

Sunday's roster is not yet finalized to prevent a first come first serve basis. A finalized roster will be posted in advance of the raid, along with reasoning for any changes made.

I'm serious about being available to play progression content and work alongside my guildies to see how far we can go! I'll make Thurg available for healing any 25-man raid we schedule except for Monday night next week. That's Civ night with some buddies. In general, Sunday nights are the best night for me for 25-mans.

I'd really rather not schedule myself for more than three raid nights in a given week and would generally prefer two, but the semester's over and I'm ready for some action. So if we do one 25-man, I'm game for a mixture any two 10-mans, or if we do two 25-mans, I'll run one 10-man. ZA is still preferred since it's newer content for me, but Kara (especially Curator and further on) still is more than worth running both for fun and upgrades.

On weeknights I can make it in time for 7pm and can run as late as ~11pm (later if necessary, but I'd like to be done by 11pm). Weekends are pretty much open for scheduling. Thursday I might be a little later than 7pm next week though.

And I promise, I will be checking more carefully to confirm when I'm scheduled! I still feel horrible for missing that I was scheduled for Kara last night.

I'll be available Tuesday and Wednesday from about 6:30 PM to 11:30 PM server time for anything, and I'll also be around for the usual Sunday 25 man madness. As was the case this week, Luna(bean) will have a test to study for on Thursday, so it would be okay to schedule me both Tuesday and Wednesday in addition to Sunday if there is need for me (although typically I prefer to only have two scheduled nights a week total).

Thursday through Saturday are completely up in the air at the moment -- I shouldn't be scheduled for anything, but I may be around to fill in as a substitute.

As for run preferences, Kara still tops my list; Attumen, Crone, Curator, Chess, Ilhoof, Shade, and Prince all still have potential upgrades for me, and I'm now a scant 26 badges from my precious. I am definitely game for anything else, but I'll need early warning if you want me for ZA, as I'll need to do some research first.

(Also, I should be available this Monday too, if folks want to finish off this week's Kara run.)

I'll be back around next week - Tibbs/Aoundrea available any night for ZA/Gruuls', etc - except Sunday (Spurs game 4). Will run Kara preferably in a full run any night as well...preference to aoundrea, but will dps as needed to help.

Alaysha would like to sign up for any 25-person raids alongside me, and would also like to run Karazhan (she has the gear to handle the secondary tank role, some encounters the primary) particularly if she can do so in the same raid as me but that's not a requirement in any of these cases (we'd rather run together but acknowledge that sometimes it just won't work out; that goes for both 10 and 25-person deals).

I just want to make it clear that I'll be focusing on scheduling 25man content only. People interested in Kara or ZA should look at who says they are available on those nights and see if there's a possibility. We've mentioned before that the scheduling of 10mans is a PITA

Meanwhile, assuming this Sunday goes well, I expect people will want to start looking at SSC, mainly The Lurker Below and Hydross to start.

Hydross is the first boss in SSC traditionally, which requires 4 tanks with special gear:

1 Tank, uncrittable (boss) with 300 Frost Resist
1 Tank, uncrittable (boss) with 300 Nature Resist
2 Tanks, uncrittable (71) with 200 Frost, 200 Nature Resist and AoE capability.

The two "focused" resistance tanks split tanking Hydross while the two duo-resistance tanks take care of the trash.

The Lurker Below is the second boss in SSC, and must be fished out of the water to start the encounter. Typically you have 1 MT and 1 OT for this encounter, but multiple tanks are good in case of a bad Spout, and handling the spawned trash.

Neither of these bosses drop Tier gear, but both drop some really great items. Those interested should check it out, along with the strategies.

Krindle has the gear to fill any of the four tanking roles in the Hydross fight

Krindle, given your level of gear and resist I dont' think there's much reason for you to use 4 tanks. You can handle Hydross just be carefull when you move him back and forth that you're the last one across the line. I'd just recommend another Pali tank with decent resists for the 4 adds.

We had a discussion on it in another thread discussing the multiple gear sets tanks need for different encounters (high avoidance vs high threat, etc.) and this came up. If we can get three well geared tanks, I have no problem taking on both sides of the elementals, meaning we can use two different tanks for Hydross, or I can go in my current uber gear and tank him resist free (so just using Flask of Chromatic Wonder, Nature resist from hunter, and Frost resist from aura). I've got time, and will look into it more

I'm hoping we head in there next Sunday. Assuming all goes well this Sunday with Gruul/Mag, I see no reason why we can't move forward. If people still want Gruul and Mag, we can schedule a separate day (during the week) to take them out, and I'll collect data here to find out if that's possible (will schedule if 20 or more are available on any one night)

The Lady in SSC drops two fantastic healing items (a cloth helm and I forget what else). I've heard she is a PITA to kill though. Progression takes time but I am looking forward to this encounter also. The lurker also drops a healing upgrade for me (a trinket I think but I can't remember and I'm at work so I can't look it up). In any case, count me in the group that is stoked to set foot in SSC.

Okay, been doing some reading here, and I think we should try for our Gruul/Mag run on the Tuesday night. We can start at 7pm, and likely Bearr can even join us after Mag, for Gruul, if someone is willing to sub out (I hear Mag is easier and quicker, so might as well go for that first).

This means Sunday will be a night of SSC, and focus on those first two bosses. I'll prepare incase we down them early so we can head to Tidewalker or one of the other 3 bosses, but it looks like this is what people prefer.

Keep signing up people, we can make this happen!

Posted what we have so far for both the Mag/Gruul Tuesday run and the SSC Sunday run.

I slotted Alaysha as MDps for the SSC run, unless she wants to invest in some Frost or Nature resistance leather (greens will do apparently), to be one of the tanks on that fight.

I think I should be available Wed-Sat, although probably not back to back nights, for any Kara or Gruul/Mag (sounds much more likely Kara at this point). Unfortunately I won't be available over the weekend due to my eldest son's birthday and leaving for a business trip Sunday evening.

On a more general note, how much do we expect to move the 25 man raids around? I can pretty much never make a Tuesday (if I can, I'm only likely to find out at the very last minute), and will likely only be able to pull off a weekday 7 pm start once in a while, as it winds up being a significant hardship for my wife. Just trying to get a picture of how I can best fit in the new plans.

Tuesday, Friday and Sunday have typically been the most populated days for our guild. So, I'd expect that the 2 - 25man runs will fall on two of those days as standard. We have a few students in the guild (myself included) and I like have days I too will have to miss because of that changing Night Class Schedule, so I expect it'll become one of those things where getting a Thursday or Saturday run together eventually won't be a problem. Consider this Tuesday as somewhat of a test run since we've only done 25mans on the weekend before. It's also why I put Gruul/Mag there, as the easier of the encounters, and the relatively quicker one to boot.

Sounds good. She and I will keep an eye out for some resistance leather to kit her out with that if possible. On a separate note, we'd also be willing to put together a secondary armor set for her when she's needed to mewmewdps instead of tank, but since tanking is her intended primary spec that'd be the kind of gear she rolls/bids on. So putting together a kitty armor set would be more via the AH and 5-person runs (or the occasional Kara drop that no others need for their primary set).

I think we need to keep Sunday as a guaranteed 25-man all summer long. Lets give everyone something they can bank on every week. I would suggest we just play around with the other day and figure out what works and what doesn't.

Shank, have you talked to any of the new guildies about getting involved in the raids? I would assume that is one of the reasons they joined the guild.
