What type of forum member (flame warrior) are you?

I post this after a heated discussion between moderators and admins regarding the status of certain individuals and events at a different forum. It's relatively small compared to this one (100k posts approx). I took action, felt it was justified and apparently the majority of the site team disagreed.

Here is how I would characterize a fair number of them (not the site team, well.. maybe one of them):
http://redwing.hutman.net/%7Emreed/warriorshtm/howlers.htm

How do you keep GWJ so nice, aside from this topic. Do you throw down the ban hammer a lot or do you just attract a certain type of member, I guess that's chicken and egg. Sorry for posting this crap.

Enough about that, what type are you?!

http://redwing.hutman.net/%7Emreed/warriorshtm/ent.htm - may not be the best example, I'm not particularly quiet

I get the feeling I'm a Coffee Klatch, although there was no option for 'pacifist' which I think would fit me a bit better.

There isn't one single type that I can point to and say "yeah, that's me." I feel I'm a composite of many, including Big Cat, Philosopher, Grammarian, Evil Clown, Yuk Yuk, and Eagle Scout.

As I was reading through those, I couldn't help but think of how Flame Warriors could be a really cool turn-based strategy game.

I have no idea what I am. At some old forums I went to, I suppose I was an Evil Clown, but I don't think that's the case here. I suppose now I'm a Yuk Yuk.

What many people don't realize is that Da Vinci actually painted the Mona Lisa with his dick. As a joke. That's what makes the Mona Lisa art. Otherwise, it's just some stupid painting of an ugly chick.

Thanks for posting this! It's such a great read. Oh, but wouldn't it be fun if we listed what category the person *above* us reaaallly is in?

Let's see... for the moose of Puce, I think I run a nice blenderous mix between
http://redwing.hutman.net/~mreed/warriorshtm/jekylhyde.htm
and
http://redwing.hutman.net/~mreed/warriorshtm/lonelyguy.htm , though my insistence on issuing periodic life support to my 'quintissential 'name that game' thread' probably gives me a nice dose of
http://redwing.hutman.net/~mreed/warriorshtm/necromancer.htm
as well.

Hmm.. agreed. I tend to view this site/forum as a nice haven away from the usual strife of daily life (Never to venture into the P&C forum). I bet we could come up with a good 'pacifist' bio and send it on to the site admin.

Pacifist
The pacifist views the forum as a safe haven from the trials and tribulations of everyday life. As such, she is reluctant to do battle, and will generally hold her tongue even if challenged. If sufficiently provoked she will generally fade into the ether (frequently transmogrifying into Lurker), surfacing days, weeks, or even months later when the storms have passed and the affront in question has been forgotten. Provoking a pacifist can be a dangerous prospect to even a seasoned warrior, however, as sightings of Big Cats or, infrequently, even Kung-Fu Masters in Pacifist garb are not without documentation.

I can't find one that fits me, sadly.

Bit of a mixture of the following: Big Dog, Cyber Sisters, Duelists, Furious Typer (minus the spelling and grammatical errors), and Tireless Rebutter.

I'm going to go with Evil Clown.

There is only an up or down--up to a man's age-old dream, the ultimate in individual freedom consistent with law and order--or down to the ant heap totalitarianism,... those who would trade our freedom for security have embarked on this downward course.

I like it, I think it fits me perfectly (except for the being female thing, although I guess we all do have our days now don't we?)

I'm just a person. I talk to you all the same as I do to everyone else on a daily basis.

I think there is some subtlety and inflection lost in the translation from speech to text, but, I bet if you met me and transcribed what I said and compared it to what I type here, they'd be dead on.

I think one thing, well, I hope one thing that makes this forum different is that we have a breed of person that isn't so interested in pigeon-holing themselves into a particular personality type.

If I'm angry, I'm angry. If I'm depressed, I'm depressed. The whole idea is that I'm expressing myself to other human beings to get an honest response. If I'm trying to put on too much of a show with my questions, I'm not going to get a real honest answer, which defeats the purpose.

I think complication makes any person more interesting and the only thing labels do is give the illusion of simplicity, and that just breads frustration and contempt.

I much prefer my frustration and contempt to come about after I've figured out, all on my own, that somebody here is a complete tool bag.

In most forums I'd call myself a lurker, but writing it down in a discussion kind of negates the definition of the lurker. I'll go with Capitalista then, since, yes, I hate the very idea of welfare state and interestingly, I read Hayek, Mises, Friedman et al.
