This may mean nothing, but when I saw this I got an extra little skip/jump in my step. Earthbound for the SNES has been rated by the ESRB for the Wii. What this means most likely is an up and coming Virtual Console release of one the best RPG's ( right next to FF6 and Chrono Trigger, but I digress ) of the 16-bit generation. I know I'm excited for it, are you?

That is awesome. Too bad we never get the new Earthbound titles here.

I just creamed myself but I already have the SNES cart so I can play it ANYTIME I WISH!

For instance, there are 108 beads in a Catholic rosary and there are 108 stitches in a baseball. When I learned that, I gave Jesus a chance. ~Ron Shelton, Bull Durham, 1988

I do as well. Won't stop me from buying the VC version though.

This will be GREAT to pick up for the VC. I never lucked into picking it up on the SNES, but played through it on a loan from a friend back in the day.

The fan translation of Mother 3 (Earthbound 2) is nearly complete.

I've been following it for awhile and these guys have been making some serious headway.

Oh i'm excited now. I have never gotten to run through this, but always wanted to. I feel it is my duty as a huge SNES RPG fan to complete this gem. Thank you virtual console for making my dreams a reality.

Argh! I've been watching that *#&$# Mother 3 translation for almost 2 years now. I love that someone's taken this on though.

Finally, a reason to be using that Gift feature on the VC. I don't care what anyone says, everyone I know is owning Earthbound!

Wrong, it's not near completion. I've been talking to Tomato for quite some time, and he said that although it looks like it's almost done on the outside there's a lot more behind the scenes that needs to be filled in. There is, however, a partial patch done that translates the menus, battles, and names.. so it helps if you want to run through the game with a walkthrough. The translated walkthrough will be resumed once the patch is done.

On topic though, SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Everyone buy this game when it comes out.

Oogaba.

Really? Man you are in for a treat. Try to nab MOTHER 3 from Ebay if you can, and if you have a GBA or DS. If not, I'm sure I could loan out my copies to some people who haven't given it a whirl and want to see where Lucas came from.
