It is so tough being from Detroit at this time of year. My Final grades in College really suffered from all the Pistons-Red Wings angst. Though 2004 was killer. I got tickets for my brother and I for game 4 between The Pistons and Bucks. And then when I went back home for the summer, I treated my mom out to a total Pistons night in the Eastern Conference Finals, the game where Reggie drop kicked the ball into the stands.
I also think that was the first playoff year for the Predators. It was really fun to see a "new rivalry" form in the West.
I'm just glad the Pistons appeared to get their game back last night. After that 10 point halftime deficit I was starting to flashback to some of the Wings famous first round exits. They were fortunate to get as hot as they did in the 3rd quarter, though. You don't often see a run on 3's like Chauncey and 'sheed had, taking a 10 point deficit down to 1 point in less than two minutes. Hopefully, they can go on a run now and finish this series up in six games.

yeah you guys pretty much slapped us around last year in playoffs too (bulls), i like the pistons but i just got a habit of rooting for the underdog.. they should of been in the finals last year,,
I don't know what their deal was last year. It seems like sometimes they just get knocked off their game and they get so busy trying to not look like they're panicking that they don't take getting challenged seriously. (I'm not really wording what I'm thinking right, but it's hard to define that team.) Anyway, they did incredibly well in Philly last night and it was great that the starters didn't play more than about 90 seconds of the fourth quarter. That should make up for the series having gone six games and hopefully still keep them in the flow with Orlando coming to town on Sunday. That should be a very interesting series.

Yeesh, this celtics teams is just an enigma. Out of their "big three" none of them have the balls to take the shot when the game is on the line. It seems like only Cassel (god no) and PJ Brown ( just hit a huge shot) have the gonads . . . .
This year will definitively be the last chance for the current Spurs dynasty; once they start fining for flops, it'll be all over for Manu. I hope he has been notified of these proposals, as I look forward to another opportunity tonight for him to take uncontested 3-point shots and crumple to the ground untouched when he misses. Get those flops in while you can!
If by offense you mean "take quick ridiculous shots that have at most a 20% chance of going in" then Sam is your man!
Take the last four play span I just watched, with Boston up by 6-8 points in the 4th quarter. Sam took two horrible shots in a row, neither of which came close to going in, one like 4 seconds into the shot clock, then on the fourth he actually had an open shot and instead he passed the ball with one second left on the shot clock and the Celts got a violation. Throughout the playoffs from what I've seen Sam I Am just seems to ruin the Boston ball movement and offensive flow whenever he goes into the game.

Powe is under strict "if you want to play, don't shoot" directions, and PJ Brown is defense first...you need some O from somewhere. Cassell went on to be 4-9 for 8 points in 13 minutes.
I was wondering why Eddie House was a DNP. It seemed like he would be just the thing for those stretches when Kobe is out of the game: hustle, 3 point shots, and good passing...oh yeah, he's a defensive liability.
At least they won. My prediction is still the same as pre-game, Celtics in 6. This is assuming Pierce's knee isn't too messed up for Sunday. If it goes 7 I think it is Lakers in 7.
You fail. You utterly motherf*cking fail. You sh*theaps. Now Boston's going to have six titles since 2000. The sheer volume of Masshole gloating is going to be absolutely untenable. I hope you all die.

Is that directed at LA, or Massholes? I couldn't tell. Knowing you, probably both.
What is more fascinating about the game I just watched was not how resilient the Celtics were, but how magnificently the Lakers imploded.
Here's a hint guys: the MVP is your 2 guard/small forward. You give him the ball, he decides what happens. Under no circumstances should you ever attempt a shot without the express permission of the MVP. That is all.
For the Celtics: give the post man (KG, Perkins, Powe) the damn ball. Every effing time. You are the modern incarnation of the Ewing era Knicks. The passing should go inside, then come out on the double. Thus it has always been, and thus should it be.
As an older Boston fan who hasn't really been that impressed since Bird retired, I have to say... that was pretty sweet. I almost gave up and went to bed when the lead was 20 in the third, but I figured I should see if they could get within 10.
Kinda wanted this to go 7 as a neutral. Not a Celtics fan but I like the idea of Allen and KG winning. I dont like the idea of Boston winning another title. Then again getting all the asshats together on one bandwagon makes it much easier to nuke them!
The Kobe passing to his teamates era has failed. Watching him at the top of the arc yesterday waiting for the ball while Sasha thought he was an allstar pretty much summed up how he gave his team way to much leash and they hung themselves with it.

I really was hoping LeBron would knock them out. Oh well. I really don't know if anyone can beat them in Boston.

I'm shocked that Cassell is still playing, years after I stopped watching basketball.

I agree with the fines. Don't reward candy-ass moves.
It's about time. I really don't enjoy the European soccer-like flops and injury faking that the internationals have brought to the NBA with them.
1 Quarter in, and it looks like the Refs are going to stay out of it. You have to get mugged to get a call.
About time!
Celtics look a lot more poised then I thought they would...should be interesting to see what Kobe does in the second half.
Why is Sam Cassell in the game? Why?!!!
Team two needs offense. With PJ Brown, Powe, Perkins, and Allen on the floor....they need Cassell to give another legitimate scorer out there.
And tonight, he's playing D.

Good lord. What was that? A 40 point win? I didn't know the Celtics could even count over 100.
Congrats to the C's.
Number 17.
Good times for Boston tonight.
