Ironman Game Catch all

Hey I just downloaded the Ironman demo this week...and I'm not dissappointed. It's not a fantastic game (at least from what I've seen), but the demo was good fun. I'm not sure how to discribe it sort of a run' 'n gun but with flying and a mecha feel to it. Kinda took a bit to get used to. Anybody else get a crack at this?

Not since XBL has decided I'm not allowed to download the damn demo. This is the same thing that happened with Tony Hawk. I get about 60 percent in and then it crashes.

Well now I'm tempted to taunt you by claiming the demo is much better than it is. And you can't have it!

I downloaded the demo and played it through yesterday. It's pretty good fun in a "shoot the crap out of stuff while flying around" kind of way, and fairly impressive graphically . The ground based melee fighting is poor; one punch, which looks singularly ineffective. I was hoping for some hurling tanks around goodness, a la Hulk: Ultimate Destruction.

I like the promise of upgradeable armour, though. I wonder if any of the specialist armours, such as the stealth or Hulkbuster models, will make it in. I think it mentioned armours from the film specifically, so probably not.

Armor. Hulk Buster included. Among others.

I thought it controlled really really poor and was thoroughly unimpressed.

Although the idea of different armor does have some appeal. I'm still going to wait for a price drop.

After playing Crackdown I am convinced that you can make a good superhero game with full enivornment. I mean beyond even Spider-Man 2 or Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. They could have done something similar with Iron Man if they had really wanted to.

EDIT -
Silver Centurion is a 360 exclusive and Ultimates Armor is PS3 exclusive? Man, PS3 owners got screwed.

Funny you should say that, I was going to say the reverse. I never liked the red and silver armor palette.

Tyrial: lvl 70 undead mage - Baelgun
Kyrator: lvl 63 night elf rogue - Blackhand
Thadryn: lvl 65 draenei mage - Blackhand

I really liked the control scheme while in the air, especially how the gradients on the triggers that normally get ignored saw some love. On the ground, not so great.

I really don't see how a "full environment" would benefit this game, or any game where you can fly indefinitely. The terrain is important in Crackdown or Ultimate Destruction because the player has to navigate around it, and so the game is strengthened by a well thought out landscape.

Overall it looks like a rental.

On the ground the control's actually reminded me of armor core controls (hence my orginal mech comment). I actually don't mind AC's controls, the only problems Ive had with AC is its presentation. The only thing that really irked me about ironman was the throwaway melee controls... I'm wondering how they'll play in the full game. Hopefully better.

Also I don't understand the need for exclusive content. Nobodies going to buy the game twice. Let us have both armors, or at least let us down load the other for 50 cents or something.

I played the demo and enjoyed it. I liked the fact you could upgrade and customize the armor, and the flying sequences were pretty cool. I don't think this one is worth $59 though. I'll keep an eye out for it in the future in the previously played sections.
