WoW: Any interest in a later raid?
Monday, April 21st, 2008 - 11:02am
Bearr's finally made it to 70 but he's admittedly horribly in need of gear. I was wondering if anyone was interested in forming a Kara raid group that starts a little later? Family commitments don't usually let me get on much before 9:00pm so I'm thinking a start time of 9:30EST (which I believe is 8:30 server) and ends around 12:00. I'm thinking that if we run twice a week we should be able to get some gear and those sweet sweet badges. Let me know if you're interested.
PS: I have no desire or intent to steal players from your regularly schedule runs. I'm thinking a flexing schedule will be best so that there are no conflicts.

Are weekend runs during the day out of the question for you?
That said, I know we have some great PST members like Joedeth who can't make the early runs either.

Yeah weekend runs are pretty much a no go for me. Wife and kids take priority so it's nights or nothing.
A later start would certainly help me as well, as I have trouble carving out extended weekend time for the same reason Bear does. The midnight end would be pushing it a bit for me (or do you mean EST?), although I could probably do that once a week. Not sure what twice a week would do to my sleep schedule (I generally have to be up by 5:30 or so in the morning), unless the second wound up being Friday or you mean EST (two nights a week to 11 server would be fine). I could give it a try though. I *really* want to get involved in raids.
Generally speaking, I can be on by 8 or 8:30 without too much trouble. If I know in advance, I can probably arrange to guarantee 8. Tuesday nights right now are the only night I have a recurring commitment.

I myself am an MST fellow, so a 8:30pm start isn't out of the question if Krindle or Gloc could help out. Likewise, I'm hoping that our newer geared and knowledgable "Daytime" tanks will be leading soon enough, which should allow me to help out.
Unfortunately I'm pretty unavailable until May 1st due to my now working two jobs due to tax season coming to an end here in Canada.

Yeah, when I said "midnight" I was referring to EST. That would give us a solid 2.5 hours each night assuming we start on time.
I know Thumps is interested in getting his mage up to speed as well. Ideally I'd like to have a couple of priests because the their Shackle is invaluable for groups just getting started in Kara. If we seed with some geared players it probably won't matter as much.
I'd love to have your experience and leadership in any run. Hell, we'll schedule around you
When I hit 70 I would love to get into some raids with you guys. I am on MST, and have the wife and kids thing going on too. Saying that, I would think that by the middle of May (holidays for the first week and a half in May), I will be very interested in joining!

I'd definitely be game for this then, although my availability the next week and a half (starting Thursday) will be limited due to family in town.

Ah, yes, feed the ego!
(This is almost sig worthy hehe).
The bottleneck you'll likely find will be with healers. Though I believe Hanta is a bit of a night owl and Vilius too, they might be in a position to help out like myself in this case. There might also be some others out there I haven't seen in a while, like Mono for instance who could help out. Meanwhile, if that's not the case, I can always have Krin go healing (I'm at about 1500+ healing and 104 mp5wc without speccing right now)
This is also the good news about BHA now doing pickup guildies for Kara. We're in a position where at 9pm a group can get together and get this done if there is demand to do so.

In looking through my gear, I've determined my best way to upgrade myself in gear is to get some T4 items and pants out of Kara, while spending my badges on a new chest piece. I am willing to run Kara with a group to help out and also to help out myself. Let me know if this gets running.
Tundra= Grinders (main), Grindars (paly alt), also work with Shanker/Reap.
What I lack in skill, I make up for in comedic relief, and I'm really funny.
I live in California and thus am on PST, but I actually like to try to turn of whatever game I'm playing around 9 PM PST in order to have some quiet time to decompress before heading to bed. As such, my schedule typically lines up pretty well with people on EST or CST, except for the part where I'm just arriving home around 7 PM their time. That said, it is always possible for me to play a bit later, up until maybe 10 PM PST or so, and thus a late starting raid could very much work for me as well.

An 8-11pm server time (central) run would be more likely for me to be able to attend mid-week, but there might be times with the summer coming up where even a 9-12 could work (far better to finish at 11pm for me though). 7-10 is still my favorite timeframe, but I'm willing to work within whatever I'm available for.
I'm starting to view Kara as the new UBRS but with better gear. There's certainly nothing prohibiting us from guild pugging that place. Well except for class balance that is
Although I am on central time Copingsaw could probably pitch in with heals and shackles until about 11:00 - 11:30-ish server time.
I'm EST as well and I prefer late night raids. Although my list of things needed from Kara is dwindling, I'll be more then willing to plant some totems for ya. My healing set is almost decent lol, so if in need I could always go resto if a 2nd or 3rd healer is needed.
Blackhand - Sheiana The Shaman.
Nights after 8pm are always better for me.

I'm definitely in. The earliest I get home most days is 8:30 server. 7:30 on fridays.
I never get to go to Kara except on the weekends because of it. I like the idea of a series of Kara runs, done in short bursts on whatever days and times works for people and finishing up on Fri/sat/sun. Especially if it starts at a time I can actually join in!
BTW: I'm Dolzer (prot warrior, best for off-tanking kara atm) and Dolgen (BM Hunter)
ThePolypusher
WAR - Dolz
Bear,
I also would be very interested in raiding Kara or elsewhere after 930 pm eastern time. The current schedules just arent good for me.
Bear, you know I would love to go later as well. Being here on the East coast makes the earlier Raiding difficult during the week due to family commitments. Weekend late night is also better for me. I would be happy to tank. There are still drops I could use from Kara and the badges of course.
Smithysaboo - level 70 Dwarf Warrior
soon to also be SabooDK - Level 55 Douche Knight
Well it appears there's enough interest. I guess now all I need to know is what classes most of you all are. In the interest of brevity I'll start another thread so we can figure out what classes we have an what days are the best.
Yes, I'd be definitely interested as well, as I don't mind being up late some nights. I'm hoping to rocket my priest the rest of the way to 70 (64 now) and be well enough geared to hit Kara right off the bat. I'll figure out my availability at post in the other thread.
