Isiah, Don't Let the Door Hit Ya.....

Just had to post this little ray of sunshine for the New York Knickerbockers:
Isiah Thomas has been canned.

About time!
Now comes the hard part: unloading a bunch of bloated contracts, under-performing and disgruntled players, and attracting some people that think playing for the Knicks is something to be proud of.

It should, in fact, fall on his head.

They're still keeping him within the organization for his "professional advice" . . . . riight. He has to have pcitures of Dolan wearing a girl scout outfit or something hidden away.

They still owe him money on his existing deal so I think the reasoning is if your gonna be paying him at least force him to go scout for you or something mundane. To be fair he does have a decent eye for drafting young talent... trading away the talent for overpaid superstars though was the next step.
Can add Ariza to that list but he traded him away and he did draft McGrady for the Raptors way back when.
I don't quite get the Isiah Hate. He kicked ass in Toronto and Indiana. The guy knows how to run a team. But when he inherits an already doomed situation and fails to get immediate results, and fails to stop an already spiraling mess, he is the bad guy? Is it just me or were the Knicks already a joke, and have been since pat Riley left?
I don't really follow basketball anymore but it was pretty apparent to me that he lead a team that was already pretty sad into a laughingstock. Bad trades for crybabies and old guys.

Besides his drafting in certain spots theres nothing good about the Isiah tenure. He brought in Marburry, Crawford, Curry, Richardson, Randolph and... Jerome James. Even if you ignore what has already been paid out that is still a whopping 225 million still owed not counting luxury tax penalties and assuming the players choose to pick up their inflated player options.
By 2011/12 Curry, Randolph and Crawford are still on the books. At least when other teams suck they choose to do so at a profit.
I would hardly consider the situation doomed when he inherited it either. He definitely didn't help his situation with his big moves which none of them panned out.
