Trackmania Nations (and United) Forever

Nadeo released a free addon for both the free version TM Nations and TM United today.
It adds new tracks, some other new stuff to the Stadium environment, graphical updates for Snow, Desert, Rally (United only, of course) and the interface gets a little update. I only had a quick glance but it looks pretty nice.
Also, people with the free version and the retail version can now play together on Stadium only servers.
You can also use some special 3D glasses with the game now, which seem to ship with the latest version of the game o_O

Do they have a version of this without Starforce now?

Can't confirm it, but I've read in two forums that Nations Forever doesn't include Starforce (one was the official forum, but that was not coming from a dev if I remember correctly)

Gotta say, this appeals to my inner five year-old more than anything else has in quite a while. Vroom. Vroom.

Incidentally, there is a Making Of article in Rock, Paper, Shotgun for those interested.

Also in the news, this game is addictive.

Hey cool, didn't know they put the free version on Steam, I think that, and that they seemed to have dropped Starforce, should get a few more people playing

There is also a GWJ group in the game which spunior created in TMU a while ago, don't know if that works across United and Nations though?

I downloaded it off Fileshack but I might uninstall and use steam to play, I even painted up a custom car! It has a giant flag of texas on it because I have a lack of imagination. But I will screw around and maybe whipout something better. I also noticed someone running around in a Lambo instead of the standard indy car, so maybe I can get a custom car. I might go out and purchase this game now that is StarF_CK free via steam and pickup a 360 controller as well.

My name as always is Pharacon

hehe! I love this game! You can even get new car models and skins! I found trackmania carpark where you can download all sorts of erew skins and cars. I just picked up a Viper and a 300c, I might even get off my duff and try to make my own car If anyone want to racne together add me to Xfire or give me a time maybe sunday? We can get on vent and start a private server.

On as Tkyl. I've done a couple of the single player challenges and a couple online matches. So far I'm loving this game.

I don't have a 360 USB controller, so I've been using my joystick. It's actually worked out really well, and I also get analog control over the speed. If you have something similar, I'd recommend using it.

Oh, and I've learned that going full speed all the time is definitely not the answer to not crashing.

I know that it should probably not be so surprising, after the game being free on Steam and all, but did you notice that in last two or three days the number of players has just risen maybe fourfold? Amazing.

Still loving the game. I will probably try to learn to drive using gamepad, since I just found out, like Tkyl, that there is some braking needed to be done as well.

I've been on using just the keyboard and doing rather well. I'm not looking forward to the Black tracks (get a gold medal on all other tracks). Silver for the most part I can pull off, gold has been much more rare.

I MADE A TRACK! BWAHAHA! Download it and try to beat my time!

My Tracks Download page on filefront

PS: Picked up a 360 gamepad for my computer and I think it has improved my game once I got the keys all sorted out! I will start to work on my next track and upload it to the same place once I get it done.

Welp, after playing the free version for a spell, I ponied up for the 1 month subscription to the full version to try it out...and I absolutely love it. I've not been this giddy about a racing game since Crazy Taxi. I've been trying both the keyboard and my Microsoft Sidewinder Freestyle Pro gamepad, and I find I do better with the keyboard...even though I still kinda stink, I don't care, it's just so much fun.

Never played it (never even heard of it until I Googled it), is it good?

Peggle is the devil, lets put it this way, when TF2 came out they packaged Peggle Xtreme with TF2, Certis was playing that INSTEAD of TF2!

I'm currently working on a skin for a car and I'm thinking of going with the full blown version shortly (via steam) but it may have to wait until next month as I am saving for a house. But I think a gamepad makes this game sweet, anyone up for a TrackMania night? We can all get on Vent and then hit up some random server or someone can host something. If everyone makes a track we can trade tracks and then race them.

Steamed it - couldn't make a new account because the mouse and/or keyboard (was hard to tell which was controlling) controls were all messed up. I'd press up, it'd move down. Awful.
