WoW: Warrior leveling question

Having got my first character to 70, I've realised that I don't really have the time (well, fine, the time-management) to do the PvE content, and my PvP attention span is pretty variable. So, I'm leveling up alts!

Anyway, was just wondering what people's thoughts were on the best spec for leveling a warrior. I've read a few guides which indicate arms, but I'm not entirely convinced. I'm currently (at level 30) arms spec, with a slow 2H aiming for big crits, but this seems inefficient. As far as I can tell, I'm suffering from a lot of "over-damage"... you know, when the mob is down to about 2% health, but it still takes the 2.6 sec to swing again and finish it off. I was wondering whether a faster weapon would be better, or whether I should respec fury and dual wield?

Any other tips and tricks would be appreciated, too!

I prefer fury for leveling to arms. It can be a bit irksome at times seeing a string of misses as long or longer than a fast 2h weapons swing time, but this is a rare occasion.

However, the flipside to this is that I don't have the fortitude to level anything but shaman, rogues and hunters anyway.

Sonic,

I came across this this article while surfing a few weeks ago. It's a fantastic breakdown of warrior leveling and enough theorycrafting to make your head asplode!

I read the same guide a week or two ago and have liked what I've seen since I switched my warrior to DW Fury. This thread from tankspot may help too.

I leveled to 70 as a dual wielding fury warrior. I switched to full Protection spec when I joined GWJ so I could help tank. I enjoyed it as I was doing lots of swinging of swords of lots of damage.

Yah... I have to agree with the conclusion for that study (well done, by the way). Dual-wield fury is the best consistent dps.

My only recommendation (and, I'm prot, so I'm a little biased), would be that if you expect to be tanking at 70, go ahead and spec prot at about 60, and learn to play that build. Running outland instances as a tank starting at 60 will provide a good foundation of experience before starting heroics and Karazhan at 70.

I keep a set of "fury" gear on hand for grinding/farming. My dps is still pretty good in berserker stance when I dual-wield, even when prot specced.

Fury all the way baby. I had so much fun Pre-BC once I made it past level 40 or so when the fun really kicked in.
