I went and bought a house...
I've been living in my parent's basement and this is going to be my first move-out. The market in Saskatoon has been pretty crazy the last while and even renting looked too expensive. However, our neighbors had moved out to their farm last year and eventually agreed to sell it to me for a pretty good price. It needs a ton of work inside and out since it hasn't been lived in for a while, but I spose I'll learn a lot. Right now we've got both parties signed on the offer but need to work out the title and possession date stuff.

Yeah that's pretty much the plan. There are one or two trees we might save but everything else is getting ripped out. I have to take care not to roundup one of the trees though as it is apparently a root off of one of my parent's trees next door.... Yeah I'm Raymond now...And everyone loves me.

From a tax standpoint check with your accountant if you can take one more deduction to lessen the taxes withheld every pay period. That may put a few more dollars in your pocket every 2 weeks. Better have your money now rather than letting the government hold it interest free until you get it back in a refund.

Congrats on the home purchase. Owning property can be a pain in the butt, but it is nice to not have to deal with a landlord. Plus, once you get everything fixed up, it is a really great feeling.
