Well, we definitely have a better showing for a chance at Gruul this upcoming week as 17 people have posted to be available thus far. Hopefully we can get the other 8. Meanwhile, the Friday ZA is still pending another tank, but I can schedule it in the hopes another will be available.

It looks like for an optimal raid on Gruul's, we'll likely want 1 - 2 more healers, and up to 1 more dps. We're close and it's shaping up really nice!

It's my hope that I'll be available for next Saturday's Kara run, but it's far too early for me to know if I'll have plans for that day, so it would probably be best to only consider me as a potential alternate for now.

We'll be out of town that weekend (or I'd sign up for a second run too), but will be back in ample time for Gruul's if it goes (if the 7pm start sticks). Sign Thurgarn up for healing.
Alaysha would sign up but she has a test the next day and will need the evening to review/study for it.
The next weekend, I should be more free to jump in on a couple things.

I would really like to get Kam (prot warrior) in on Kara next Saturday if possible. Trying to work things out with my wife though, as we have four kids, all on the younger side, and that cuts across both dinner and bedtime. I'll try to update by Sunday with a more certain intent. Are there any thoughts of trying to use different time slots in the future? For me personally, either earlier or later potentially works better, as I leave my wife alone for fewer critical parts of the day.
As for stats, I'm currently at 11.7k/12.7k health/armor with 42% avoidance (dodge + parry + miss), but will be shifting to Timewarden's Leggings plus Clefthide Leg Armor plus the helm enchant with one more KoT run, which should move me to 12.2k/12.4k or so and I think push me up another 1.2-1.5% avoidance. Should hopefully finish up the research I've been doing on Kara early next week.
Edit: got my rep (thanks Lone, Cin, Ter and Dyr), so I'm now at 12.3k/12.5k with 44+% avoidance.

Looks like I won't be available for Kara this Saturday after all. Unfortunately we seem to be hitting a bit of a busy stretch, so I'll probably have limited weekend time for a few weeks. Guess I'll be focusing on dailies getting into heroics some during the week for a little bit.
Edit: We examined our busy streak, and it's a bit long. Looks like my next opportunity for a Sat raid is unfortunately May 24. If anything gets going Kara-wise during the week in the meantime, feel free to look me up.

Currently the Friday ZA is short 1 tank, and the Sunday Gruuls just needs a few more people to happen. Of course, we haven't yet heard from some of our more regulars, so hopefully they'll speak up here soon
I'd suggest due to the slow raiding week, another Kara run might be possible earlier on the week, especially since it appears we have a few tanks that are available to run this week.

Okay mostly successful Kara run to start this week's cycle off with. Our final roster is/was:
Those unfamiliar names there are from the guild Silentium, who we ran with courtesy of Stormspain's connections. In addition to those shown, we also had Stormspain and Copingsaw as healers and we went through an extra DPS from Silentium who's name escapes me (Louk).
We didn't get rolling until 8pm or so server time and called it a night at around 1am after downing Netherspite. We had some trouble with Illhoof and Nightbane, but other than that we did pretty well, leaving only Illhoof (who bested us 3 times) and Prince who was not attempted due to time.
Ideally we'll try and get together to see if we can finish the clear later this week.
