Apparently that's the April promotion. Could be good if you have a few games over the $8 trade in value required. Check out the link below, you'd be surprised what will still qualify.

Not a bad deal if you want to upgrade to a 360 Elite for $249 or a PS3 for $199

Trade in Values

Doesn't seem to be showing on their site yet, but EB Canada's site, well, sucks pretty badly compared to it's big brother's version Here is the originating deal thread on RFD.

Hmmm... not seeing anything on their website yet. You sure this is an April deal?

Just updated the post with the link to the RFD forums. Seems legit because they do this a couple times a year, can't call them right now because I'm at work. I remember cashing in on this deal back when I got my PS3. Cheaper consoles for the win!

I'll point out that this deal was originally for trade in 8 - get a PSP free (how I got mine last month). The games need to be worth $8 or more.

Even better was that when I got it, I only had 4 games (3 at $8 and 1 at $30) but they valued the deal anyways. As in, they bumped up the $8 games to $25, giving me a savings of $105 off my new PSP.

Yeah, that's how I got my PSP last summer too. I was in EB yesterday but didn't see any signage.

But I am pretty damn blonde. I'll give 'em a shout and see what's up.

I think it's safe to say, it's almost worth having a few games lying around for these system deals. As much as I loathe EB, these are the only reasons I have to step foot in their stores

Yeah Trach, if you can confirm that would be great..

Just called my fave EB and the deal is on! Time to start weedin' again. Any local Goodjers wanna donate to the "Get Trachalio a PS3" fund?

I keed, I keed!

Totally forgot to ask if they've got 80 gig PS3s in stock. It'd be nice to have full backwards compatibility, not just PSOne compatibility.

Ask for the 60GB though, that's the one with hardware PS2 compatibility Or maybe wait and see which one comes with the rumblific new dual-shock?

Too many damn models. What is it now, 20/40/60/80?

I can confirm the backwards compatibility on the 60GB is tight though, not one problem, and the upscaler helps de-uglify the jaggies a little (it's not a miracle, but there's a minor, noticeable difference).

Is this for Canada-land only?

I was under the impression that the 60 gigs were nearly impossible to find now?

I'll call 'em again on the weekend to see if they'll be getting rumble-tastic ones in soon.

Could be, I wasn't sure if the 60s were still in production. From the PS3 Matrix it seems the 80GB is the best bet, and has the best software BC out of the bunch, so it seems like a no brainer.

I'm pretty sure the 60 gigs were pull from production 6 months after launch so they could release the 40 gigs.

When I did this deal last year, it was 10 games worth 8 dollars in trade-in for $260 off. In addition, they would bump any additional $8 TIV games to an additional $26 off and any $3-6 TIV games to $10 off. I traded in 17 games to get a PS3 for $150. (some were new Wii games worth more than $26 in TIV)

I'm not sure they'll have the same terms now but it would be worth asking. And I assume you *must* have 8 games for the deal and each is upgraded to $25 if it is.

Yup that's what it seems to be, bring in 8 games worth at least $8 in their system and they are bumped to $25, hence the $200 off. And knowing EB, I'm sure they will love you long time for bringing even more than the required 8, bumping them up an additional to $25 for each additional each title.
