Metal Gear Online Catch-All
What is this? The multiplayer stealth-shooting game using MGS4 graphics and gameplay, possibly supporting Clans and so on down the road.
Recent info concerning MGS4 here (thanks to Leigh Alexander at SVGL), good preview for MGO here at Eurogamer.
The beta for this game starts April 17, or maybe April 21? (my beta code said the 17, but the blog entry above said the 21st)
Anyhow, so I thought we could use a thread to discuss interest in this game, possibly organize a regular weeknight to play the beta (I know you've all preordered MGS4, so this is a given).
We seem to have a compulsion to bury time capsules..... I have placed some large samples of dynamite, gunpowder, and nitroglycerin. My time capsule is set to go off in the year 3000. It will show them what we are really like.

I'm a fan of Ryan Payton's Kojima Productions Report and Metal Gear Online is sounding pretty damn cool. I totally need to pre-order so I can get my beta code!
They really seem to be aiming for a lot of team work. One mode that sounds really fun is having two squads facing off against each other AND one player who gets to play snake. Killing Snake gets your squad a point, but he has the Octo cammo to use as well. I think there's a lot of potential here.

I read some previews on the game from the last time the press were allowed to look at it... I'm glad we're getting a chance to play it pre-MGS4, especially since this is a dry time for me.
Let's hope there's a little more GWJ enthusiasm, I don't want to end up talking to myself here.

I pre-ordered late last week and got my key. The DVD that came with it is pretty good too! If it's fun, we'll bang the war drums, KingMob. I've got 30 people on my PS3 friend list who I'm sure would like nothing better than an excuse to play something on the system that's unique to it.

My local EB said they had a bunch of pre-orders from before the whole beta thing and they were handing out discs to anyone who came in with a receipt. You may want to give your store, whatever it was, a buzz. Or re-pre-order

I've got my beta key, but I have no faith in the PS3 as a viable online multiplayer platform. Still, I'm willing to be pleasantly surprised.

Currently on a gaming hiatus until the fall.

Just downloaded the beta. Aside from Motorstorm this will be the only game I've gone online with on my PS3. I don't even have any friends on the PSN. My username is Sgt_Slugworth26. I'll be up for trying this out, just to see if I can sneak up behind someone and break their neck.

Mine is also only 9 digits, but I attributed the failures to the fact that I was trying yesterday. If it's not working for you today, though, maybe we got the short end of the MGO beta stick.

Thanks to Trachalio I was able to download the demo, only to have to upgrade it, and than it told me I had to register an ID with Konami and the website right now is getting slammed so I still can't try it out.
Picked up a dual shock controller and everything too!

I'm not seeing any update for it, but when I try to get into the game from the games menu it says not to shut off the system when the harddrive light is flashing. It just stays at that screen. I guess I'll see if it works on the 21st.
Edit:Duh, just had to press one of the controller buttons. Now I'm getting the update.
