Houston Slap & Tickle Part Eleventeen

It's that time again. Fed and I were talking at lunch and we both feel it's high time for another Houston Slap and Tickle. I can't remember how many we've had in the past, so I made up my own special number for this one. We were thinking about doing something gaming related on Saturday April 19th. Maybe a LAN center meeting?
Of course, we could always do the sports bar/lunch/chat it up sort of thing too.
So, where's my H-town homies at?

So that is what reading is for haha! Ok whats the plan Stan? Been looking for a LAN Center in Houston but I do not see anything when I search the web.

The only one I ever saw was out on 1093 near West Oaks Mall (and that's sort of a haul for everyone). I'm not even sure it's still open.

Well i do know of one in Katy, but like hell I'm driving out there on a weekend. Maybe we should do the responsible thing and drink. But I plan on hosting my own LAN parties once I get my house in fall/winter of this year.

I got friends from out in Caty, played LB there.
So, how close are you to the woodlands?
I may be making a trip down there to visit friends, and a meetup might be required.

The Woodlands are about 20-30 minutes North of Houston (depends on traffic, can be much worse).

The date can be moved. I'm out of town during the week for business, so Saturday the 19th might not be the best idea for me either (wife might want to spend some time with me, the kid definitely will). We want to push it back to the 26th?

The only thing that makes me sad is no team fortress
I do not see why this Lan Center doesn't step up for the steam catalog 
But man do those PC Specs make me want to cry, but hell lets do it!

I felt the same way. Especially since I just bought a new comp (the parts are sitting right next to me begging to be assembled), my existing comp and the one I had before that are better than some of the machines they have there.

I'm going to call it and move this out a week. I'm not going to have a lot of time next week for any organization or leg work to make this happen Saturday.

Man, I really wanted to come to this one, but I'm having new carpet installed in the house 'some time between 1 and 5' on the 26th. I love installers.
As for LAN centers, I know there's one in The Woodlands called Combat Zone and there's one in Kingwood whose name escapes me at the moment. I'm a north-sider so don't know much about the rest of town despite living here nearly my whole life.
I'll keep an eye on this though and if they finishe early I'll make the wife let me go play.
Somebody told me how frightening it was how much topsoil we are losing each year, but I told that story around the campfire and nobody got scared.

I see the one in Kingwood as well but not to sure if this is too much of a drive for some. But the kingwood one doesn't look like it has many good games.

Well, it looks like no matter what time the installers show up, I can't come play. The wife has designated April 26th as Rock Band Night and organized a party at her brother's house in Willis, even further north than we live. Guess I'll see you guys at Houston S&T Twelveteen.

I actually was seriously thinking about that. I love Houston and that would cut a lot of time that it takes me to fly there once or twice a month. And rent is cheaper there too!

Jeez, somehow this thread has eluded me until now. I know I have dissapointed you all. I am not worthy.
This Saturday the 19th is bad.
Next Saturday the 26th is almost as bad as I am occupied mid-afternoon on. A lunch meeting would work but if y'all want to do a LAN center I may be out. Besides, I'm too damn old to be mixing it up with a bunch of high-school kids.
I'll do a better job of watching this to see what develops.
