A happy ending on Joe Millionaire?

So let me get this straight, after all these family value types and feminists bash the show for destroying the human concept of love, it ends up working out beautifully in the end? He ends up picking the right one and they both become instant millionaires. Yes, it wasn't the best television (I tried to avoid it like an Iraqi scientist avoids the UN) but it sure doesn't seem like trailer trash TV (I'm looking at you, Jerry Springer) anymore. Let's see all those detractors eat crow now.

"Well what were you expecting in an opera, a happy ending?" - Bugs Bunny What's Opera, Doc?

Hey, hold on a minute, why am I even posting this here?

come on down to Rat Boy's nest!
light up a stogie, and soon you'll see
how rock can be commercial-free!

Well it IS the everything else forum . My wife (NO REALLY, I swear) mentioned that on the talk show rounds the folks have been making that the ending was pretty much BS for show and nothing has come of it. Who knows... maybe we are all to cycincal and jaded to belive in any happy ending that does not involve Anima looking characters anyway...

I''m happy to say I didn''t watch a minute of that show. So far, I''ve managed to avoid reality shows altogether. Mainly because not one of them is even vaguely rooted in reality. I say if you want Survivor to be real, put everyone on an island and give them all a club. Leave for a month. Whoever is alive when you come back wins. Now THAT''S surviving.

I watched a lot of the show. I found it quite entertaining. Don''t be so ashamed to watch it. I thought the ending was great and I will definitely watch the follow-up show next week. I am glad he picked the right one. Serves those catty losers right!

It was nice to see Zora at least get the cash, even if the relationship doesn''t end up working out, but who knows?!

I can''t come clean on watching this with my own free will. We have one TV in our apartment and since all I do is watch football and baseball the wife gets first pickings on all the other trash out there on tv.

The show wasn''t as bad as I thought it would be.

Reality TV went downhill so hard.

I admit, I watched the first Survivor, but it was also new and never really been done on North American TV. But that was it for me watching shows like that.

I stopped watching Survivor, and everything else to come along in the last couple years has not piqued my interest one bit.

Obviously these shows are doing something right to have the amount of viewers they do, but I can''t watch them.

feh!

I usually like the first iteration of shows. After the first season I could care less about Survivor. This year I am not enjoying American Idol as much either. The TV Studios should just stop after the first run of an idea.

We have replay and we have an office. I can always find something other to do then watch voyeur TV. But my wife likes this stuff so I catch it it in small bits and pieces. For while I was working my way through college I was a store investigator for a retailer chain, I spent a lot of time looking at people through cameras and watching them be whacky... that was more then enough for me (that and discovering that some folks will try to kill you over shoes *sigh*). Hey how about we build a big stadium and see which ones can fight off the lions and and then beat each other with weapons until there is only one person standing, then we can all cheer and worship them for being a great warrior! ok maybe a little over the top, but at least old school got the politics out of the way.

The finale of Joe $$$ was the highest rated show ever for Fox in primetime?! I knew it had a following, but I didn''t know it was that big.

My Mother-in-law is in town and I got stuck watching this steaming pile of crap.

The radio monday morning summed it up best:

""So let''s see, this guys has a FAKE 50 million inheritance, a FAKE mansion, and a FAKE butler, and they call it REALITY TV.""

*sigh*
