Hey All,
So, I'm really enjoying this instance, and the dailies that go along with it, and was wondering who still needs to get keyed. I figure tonight I should be available to help a couple of groups run it in normal, and hopefully can follow up with a heroic to start working on it to get people those amazing trinkets. Here's who I know still needs to get keyed, and also the group makeup you likely want going in:

Tank
Healer
2 Ranged DPS (likely one to be a mage or warlock, possibly both for heroic)
1 Melee DPS
*1 consistent interrupter recommended (especially for Delrissa and Kael)
*Arcane resist helps in heroic on 2nd boss

I should be online aroudn 6pm, looking to do 2 normal runs followed by a heroic that night, with dailies in there somewhere.

I will be on tonight but probably not until after 8 or 9 PM. Would love to go through it on Normal to get keyed if a group can be put together.

I still very much want to do this, but weeknights are still rubbish for me on instance runs typically. Tomorrow night could possibly work, or maybe Sunday night if Gruul's is a no-go. Dunno how Saturday is looking for me yet, but often I can fit something in on Saturday AM. This instance should be easier for me to work in due to its shorter length, at least!

Sounds good to me. Unless I'm needed for both, I'll step out of the second run so someone else can get keyed, and I'll be around for the Heroic (unless someone compatible vastly out-gears me, which isn't hard, and in that case you should take them for a better chance of success).

Oh wait, I just remembered, you need Honored rep to get the heroic key, right? If so, it'll likely be a while before I can get that key. I still very much want to hit MT for some normal runs anyway if I can, but I don't want to waste a slot for someone that has the rep to get the key on that run (though, running it will help me rep up, too Catch-22!).

For MrT, you need only to complete the quests in regular mode in order to run heroic. There is no rep requirement.

This is easily one of my favorite instances now.

It certainly has the best abbreviation.

(I'm sure it will be awesome when I finally get a chance to run it though.)

I need to get Newark & Schniggles keyed but I'm not too confident in healing it plus I only have a little arcane resist on Schnuggles (who's already keyed). I think the important thing is to get people's mains keyed up & worry about alts later. I'm still working on getting Newark's +healing up, right now she's around 1550ish & I don't feel I'm that strong of a healer. I'll see about getting some arcane resist gear on all of my toons.

The main thing that people have to remember is that you NEED a specific group makeup for this instance. If you are too melee heavy, or don't have enough CC, you are not likely to succeed. So if you don't make the first run don't despair, I'll be organizing groups that are likely to succeed, since more wipes means less people get keyed.

I will try to get to as many as possible, but will also likely try doing this again tomorrow night and over the weekend

Krin, just fyi, Thurg's been back to full healing spec since picking up the epic flyer, and I plan to remain that way. So when considering me for any groups, that's staying my role. My focus now outside of grouping is getting cash to pick up the mats for enchants that will boost my primary healing set to be even more effective.

I've neglected enchants for a while due to both not having good enough gear to worry about it, and saving up for the flyer. But I have several pieces that likely won't get replaced anytime soon, and I could probably pick up reasonably cheap enchants on the other pieces, and boost my overall effectiveness a fair amount.

Looking forward to diving at MrT when I can with some goodjer pals!

What kind for casters & healers? Something like Arcanoweave or soulcoth? There is Cloak of Arcane Evasion http://thottbot.com/i30831 . How much arcane resist would you recommend with gimping oneself? I was thinking the Flask of Chromatic Wonder would help.

Getting attuned is sickly easy for MrT. You pick up a quest in Shattrath, hand it in at QDI, then head into the instance, you don't need to fight anyone to get in there, and there is no rep grind, just completing the instance on normal gets you heroic attuned

Flask of Chromatic would definitely help, and a druid there helps too. I'd say not to aim any higher than 100 otherwise you really gimp yourself.

I've been reading more into the bosses as notes have gotten updated, and found that a certain amount of Pure Energy spawn every 15%, based on how long it took since the last 15%. At 20%, the boss continuously casts an AoE arcane that hits everyone, so right before that, you pop your trinkets and burn him down. Meanwhile, you shift people around to kill the Pure Energy that spawn and clear the debuffs off with CotS, using pets to kill them, using Ice Block or Bubble, and leaving the last few on the tank as they can take the hit. Healers spamming an AoE heal at the end helps finish it off too.

On the third boss (Delrissa), it's actually Zelfan that spawns the Explosive Sheep, and no tank is required for the fight, even on heroic.

On Kael, phoenix's will spawn after a certain duration, until Kael reaches 50% (where he uses his gravity shift), so burn down the phoenix's until about 55 - 60% health, then right after killing one, take him down the additional 5 - 10% so you don't get another bird while gravity occurs. Likewise, when gravity ends, you only have a few seconds, but damage is increased by 50% on him during that time. His fireball can be interrupted with (they didn't specify, just stated...) all silencing effects. And that a tank is only needed until the 50% point, so this is one of those battles where a pally should tank in partial healing gear, or a druid with cat gear tanking in bear form at the beginning. Fire resist from a totem or pally aura helps only during the first 50% than something else (like conc aura) can be used. AoE healing effects help during the gravity shift as well, as does having a second healer (so I'll probably tank with some healing or damage gear next time).

These little tidbits are definitely the difference in the fight. The stuff I learned and applied against Delrissa last night made the fight unbelievably easy, like it was actually a normal instance

Schnugs, that cloak, paired with the arcane resist enchant on it and the violet badge are usually enough Arcane resist usually.

If you start peeling off alot of your dps/ heal gear the fights gets really messy, it's the same with the Solarian fight in TK.

Now clearly I haven't tried this, but in reading notes from the PTR over on Curse, it seems that if you kill the egg that spawns after you kill the phoenix, you can prevent it from ever coming back. Have you guys tried that yet?

Zero, the phoenix can be resummoned by Kael even if you destroy the egg.

Hm, I guess I misread the description from the PTR then. Bummer.

Edit: Yeah, it was sort of ambiguous, just saying "You must continue DPS on the egg and kill it or the Phoenix will be reborn. Phase 2 will begin when Kael’thas is at 50% life and you should make sure both the Phoenix and its egg are destroyed before it happens." Bummer indeed.

Well sorta,
By killing the egg, you stop THAT phoenix from spawning again. However, Kael can and normally will resummon a new one in its place if he is over 50% health. If you've taken him down below that just after taking out the phoenix (and corresponding egg), he will summon no more.

Coming from the weakest healer for 5 mans, not the case Krin. I wouldn't want to do this with anything less than 150, preferably 200. Slowing down DPS only helps the group, since dealing with the pure energy and keeping the minimal number of debuffs on each of the dpsers is very important. Can't heal if you're dead, and you can't DPS if you're dead.

Beyond that, Delrissa is a PITA in Heroic, we called it on her last night. This fight is far and away one of the hardest I've come across in the game to date.

So,
Last night I got Khushmynta, Lunazul, Copingsaw, Trollslayer, Crazyivan and Veloreyn all keyed for heroic. We've got a good number of people from several classes all keyed now, but I'm sure there are still a couple here and there that need, along with of course the rep grind (which I'd prefer to do in heroic, since I'm already 1/2way to Revered due to all the normal runs). I might be able to get a few more in tonight if people are interested, but it'll be later than usual (like 9pm server+ I figure)

AnimeJ - everyone else is talking about normal, believe it or not.

Normal is by far the hardest normal instance there is, but it's not bad enough to worry about stuff like Arcane Resist, etc. Imho!

Heroic, on the other hand, will steal your lunch money.
