Battlestar Galactica - What Will Earth Be? *SPOILERS*

New season of BSG starts April 4. I'm currently slightly more than halfway through season 2 on my own personal re-cap watch (I have seen all episodes through Razor thus far... Just re-capping for my own edification).

Does anyone have any speculations on what Earth will be when (if) they get there?

Also, who's the final cylon?

Oh really? I think YOU'RE the final cylon, trying to direct suspicion away from yourself. You would've called me a "frakkin' toaster" if you were really human. You frakkin' toaster.

Har har.

Really, what I'm asking is, is Ron Moore going to make it an epic battle/quest to get to Earth, and then leave the series with the shot of the blue marble, and Rosalyn's voice-over of something like "and they found a home," and leave us all happy and warm, or will we finally see Earth, and find it peopled with humans and a bunch of walking, talking androids on the verge of developing consciousness, ready to start a war over freedoms ("All of this has happened before, and will happen again," etc.)?

Happy and warm, I think, with the implication that we, the people of earth, are perfected Cylons. Just a guess, of course. . .

I think we'll get to see Earth (the actual surface and people) but they will have digressed over the past 2000+ years and they'll show up just about the time of the early Greek empire.

Edit: The explanation being that the 13th Colony rejected the technology of the people of Kobal which is why they didn't tell the other 12 Colonies where they were going... something like that

As long as they dont follow the script of BSG 1980, it can't be all bad.

Hmm...It could be that the 13th Tribe was really made up and that the Fleet (or the Cylons) will BECOME the 13th Tribe, settling Earth. Earth then becomes the new Kobol and jumping point for the next 12 Colonies thousands of years later, which really ties into the "all of this happened before and will happen again."

Heck, maybe the Fleet is completely destroyed and the 12 Cylon models or the Hara hybrid finally gain the ability to procreate and their offspring becomes the 13th Tribe/New Kobol. Or the humans and Cylons both settle on Earth, but the Cylons become the "gods" that destroyed Kobol and forced the humans to start the next 12 Colonies. Or maybe this time its the humans that become "gods" and scatter the Cylons...

I'll be happy as long as they don't try to pass off the 13th Tribe as part of the Lost City of Atlantis.

I don't know. The monotheism and Gaius Baltar's decidedly somewhat Christ-like appearance, as well as the trial last season based mostly on false claims... Makes me wonder.

I think it should be a 1970s Earth, with a spliced together cameo from Lorne Greene.

For me it all hinges on the question of whether the use of the Greek gods is supposed to be literal or figurative. To my knowledge, they haven't tipped their hand at all on that question, though the use of "All along the watchtower" either gives a clue on the matter, or has nothing to do with it. . .

If the past is anything to judge by, then either:

a) the blondie pilot will run into a Cylon fleet and have to fall back
b) the blondie pilot is lying and is possibly a Cylon
c) the blondie pilot dies before revealing where Earth is
d) the blondie pilot is leading Adama to Earth, only to discover that it is a hologram

In the very last episode of Season 4, however, someone will suddenly see Earth on their radar. But it will merely turn out to be Hurley floating in space. He will be found at space coordinates 4-8, 15-16, 23-42.

The very last few frames will be a spliced image of Glen Larson's withering penis. Few will see it, but all will feel its presence.

If I'm not mistaken, in one of the "specials", or commercials for season 4, they showed Earth and I seem to have recognized some familiar continents.

Oh, I'm not contending that Earth won't be the planet we now inhabit... I'm just curious what kind of society they'll find there.

Speaking of one of the specials, I'm now convinced that Elysium is the long lost brother Joss Whedon. You could put Joss on the Conference Call and no one would know the difference.

Gee, thanks SciFi.com for not only not telling everyone that they were airing episodes from the new season at 12 EDT but also only once where if you're in any other time zone, it's damn inconvenient to set aside time to watch it.

And 10 EDT. Imagine my surprise when I was flipping channels after "What Not To Wear" and I saw Tigh raise his gun. Wow. Surprise!

Good episode last night. Not great. But solidly good.

I guess when Sci-Fi said "All will be revealed," they meant to say, "All will be revealed...eventually...later...probably in the two hour finale, but it will be revealed!" This episode was average at best; basically a recap of what we already know and confirmed what was hinted at in the season finale, but not really giving us a whole lot new. Tigh, Tory, Anders, and Tyrol? Still Cylons. Starbuck's disappearance and reappearance? Still suspicious. Baltar in touch with "God?" Still, at least through Head-Six.

I am wagering that Earth will be revealed in the feature length film, a trailer of which will be shown just after the closing credits of the final episode, with a TO BE CONTINUED.
