WoW BHA Raids - Mar. 25 - 31

So, it would appear that Mayfield's computer has gone on the fritz, and I'm unfortunately unable to make a schedule for the next few weeks. I figured we'd give something else a try, atleast for this week.

The following nights, we'll see about getting some static Kara, ZA and Gruul's runs going. If there is interest in participating, show up approximately a 1/2 hour BEFORE the scheduled times to be considered. I've also posted what is needed to truly succeed on a recommended basis. Exceptions can occur, but the closer to the makeup, the better chance of success. In the case that two or more equal toons both want the same spot, I'd suggest a roll-off to determine the spot, and the lost roll(s) to be considered on a following raid (in an attempt to keep things fair).

Example: Three hunters roll off, and one does not go on Raid #1, the third hunter should be considered for Raid #2, as they didn't get to go on the first shot. It's the rule of "you went on the last one, let me give it a shot"

Anyways, here's what I'm thinking:

Tuesday - Kara Group A, 7pm server start
Required/Recommended:
2 Tanks (preferably different types)
3 Healers (again, preference to different types)
1 - 2 Melee Dps (Rogue, Fury/Arms Warrior, Ret Pally, Enh Shaman)
3 - 4 Ranged Dps (Mage, Hunter, Warlock, Boomkin, SPriest, Ele Shaman)

Wednesday - ZA Group A, 7pm server start
Same makeup as Kara
2 Tanks - favors one to be Pally
3 Healers
1 -2 Melee Dps
3 - 4 Ranged Dps - favoring mage & warlock
*Fully Kara geared individuals should get priority above those still receiving upgrades in Kara

Friday - Kara Group A (continued), 7pm server start
*Continuation from first run, mostly the same individuals unless planning to take part in the following

Saturday - Kara Group B, 3pm(?) server start
*New Kara to occur, primarily for people not participating in the Tuesday/Friday run

Sunday - Gruul's Lair, 7pm server start
Required/Recommended:
4 Tanks
6 - 8 Healers
1+ Mage
1+ Warlock
3+ Hunters
13 - 15 Dps Total (mixed variety)

Alternate Sunday - ZA Group B, 7pm server start (if not enough available)
*Same makeup as Group A earlier in the week

Organization of the raids in question should be handled typically by the following individuals if they are present. If none are present, it should be handled by an officer with knowledge of the raid in question:

Shanker/Titanos
Krindle/Gloc
Azorius
Vilius

Please post questions and concerns. Any raid availability is nice, but will make no bearing on the raid that actually takes place

In the event someone picks up the ball to run with it (that is, decides to attempt a schedule), I'm available for anything Thursday and Friday night. I might be available Sat-Mon too, but those die have not been cast yet.

Good luck on the computer Vil, and good luck on the classes Krindle.

Sorry about the dates, I'll switch it right away. I'd suggest NOT doing a schedule for the week, as it wouldn't be fair to people who normally post on the Friday, or early Saturday their availability. Likewise, I'd prefer to try this out, since frankly, it's pretty silly the way we currently work raids, and it's gotta go.

I can run Tuesday but not Friday for the Kara run. My only needs are Shade of Aran's Saberclaw Talisman and Prince Malchezaar's Sunfury Bow.

I can run Saturday but must log by 4:30 pm server time.

I can run Sunday afternoon / evening for Gruul and / or ZA or go for a full Kara run!!

I can do anything on Thursday the 27th and Monday the 31st ... would love a shot at Prince if it comes up!!!

Thanks

Epe, what do you want the Saberclaw Talisman for, anyway? It's equivalent to the neck you have, except that you'd be losing a ton of hit, and you're not at the hit cap.

Looks like with Vil having computer problems I will be heal spec for a while. I'm actually enjoying it so its all good. I should be on Friday and Sunday and will pitch in if needed those nights. I will be afk both Tuesday and Wednesday nights so hopefully there are 3 other healers available. Looks like stormy and Lone are available for sure those nights.

I'm not going to post availability this week, but if there's something going, and I'm on, and you need a healer or a less than good DPSer, holler at me.

Imho all you need for Kara is 2 healers. It's also handy if one of the tanks can heal a couple fights. 2 healers = 6 DPS = faster killing.

Now if we didn't have such strong healers and tanks, then that might not be the case.

That's basically the whole idea behind this plan. Before 7pm, see who is on and wants to go. I'm still quite amazing that people are posting their availability, like the first post was skipped so they tossed in their hours

If I'm correct, we should have no problem putting together raids in particular for ZA and Kara. We've done both enough times to know the set up required, and I've detailed what is needed/recommended to complete those instances.

Agreed, I just tossed up the guidelines, and it has been done with 2 healers in the past, so no real problem going with 2 either. I still see a couple of problems with 2 healers, particularly on Illhoof, Netherspite, and partially on Nightbane & Prince. Otherwise 2 of our wickedly-awesome healers can get through that place no problem.

On Nightbane and Prince I have one of the tanks help heal, but we can two-heal them as well. I think Neviril and one other two-healed Blyvie on Prince months ago, before Nev had all the gear from Kara, and before Blyvie had his current shield, etc.

That said, I don't mind the safety net of one tank throwing heals at all.

Armory is just a rough guide. Works great until you are trying to max your Raid stats. Since Hit is what you need to strive for to prepare for T5, ignore armory.

Yeah, sorry to tell ya, but I've been ignoring that as an upgrade for ya, and just been focusing on getting you into Prince fights more than anything. I even recall it dropping and us explaining why it was worthless for you to have.

Typically when I've had time in the past, I've gone into character profiles and seen whether what they state as an upgrade is in fact an upgrade, and generally I ignore about 1/2 of what people put up there when deciding raid spots. Also falling into this category are offsets, mounts, enchants (that someone in guild has already received), and plans that create BoE items, or BoP items that aren't upgrades.

Those to me are all bonuses, opposed to things that are necessary for progression, or are more considered sidegrades to be used in special encounters (otherwise, I'd be putting that Holy damage cloak down that drops off the trash!).

I would find a way to put it in my AoE, Threat & Farming sets...period!

NOTE: That's 3 sets out of 14 sets I currently use, so that's why it's still not considered an upgrade IMO

So tomorrow (Tuesday), we're hopefully going to have a full group get together and run through Kara. Primarily look for Azorius, Shanker/Titanos, Krindle (won't be available) or Mayfield (probably still MIA). If these aren't available, look for an officer to put it together. Make sure you are online by 6:30pm server to be considered for the raid so we know what we are working with.

GL guys, hopefully this works
