By the way, couldn't go for more than 8 games in the season. The reason for this is because APF2k8 allows you to create an 8 game season or a 16 game season. Kind of whack. So I figured shorter was better in this case. Especially as the playoffs this season will be a veritable free for all tourney at the end.

I will sign up as soon my xbox comes back from the hospital. I just shipped it off yesterday so I am hoping to have it back by the end of next week. I was hoping to get some practice games in - but it looks like that won't be happening.

With 8 players in the playoffs I think the regular season is going to be like practice for some.
I like it better, though, than a season where by the middle of the season 2 or 3 guys know they're out of it completely.

You know how to charge his "laser arm", right? Kosar was high on my list at one point during the draft. The key is charging the QB up before throwing. Laser Arm gives him pinpoint precision. He won't match Marino, but should make some solid throws.
On that note, is everyone familiar with how to edit your playbook, and then use it during the season? You can also edit your depth chart and save it so that you don't have to make all of your moves on the first drive of the game. The key is to go on Live and log into our league. There is an option in the menu to edit your team just like you do offline. But when you do it through the league menu, it saves it in your profile for the league.

Well, when I sent mine in, it Microsoft never updated my status once it was received. So don't let that fool you into thinking they haven't touched it yet.

I know how to charge, the problem is doing it effectively.
I've just noticed that his passes take a lot longer to get to the receiver than a rocket-armed Elway. And thanks for the tip regarding depth charts and playbooks, I had no idea. The menu system in this game is so horrible and unintuitive, I don't think I would have ever found that.

well as of today the XBOX page is not even showing that I have a system registered with them. I am going to give them a call today and see if there is an ETA of when I can expect my system back.

So I have called and spoken to an Xbox support person 3 times now. Each time I am told the same thing - Your system is in the repair bay.
The guy I spoke to today stated that since my system is an elite, I can expect my repair time to be longer as the repair center does not have a lot of the elite spare parts on hand?
I was under the impression that the elite was basically the same system as the regular system. Other than the color and hard drive size what are the differences?

I think they often send back a different box than you sent in...so the unit you get back may have been someone else's previously. If they had too few elites, they might actually have to take the time to repair your box as opposed to sending you someone else's that came in days/weeks/months before.

You should call them back and let 'em know that we're all waiting on them to fix it, so they should make it a higher priority. This doesn't just affect you anymore!!
