Vote me a new game
Being a poor and until recently unemployed student type, I have not had money to buy myself a game in a long, long time. The last game I purchased (not counting Peggle) was The Orange Box, and although that was chock full of gaming goodness I'm jonesin for some new material. I just got some money to celebrate the anniversary of my glorious entry into this world, and I just got my first paycheck, so I finally have the discretionary budget to pick up a new game.
The problem is that so many new games have passed me by that having to choose just one is breaking my fragile spirit. So I've decided to outsource the decision. I only have a PC, so that limits the choices somewhat, but it's a decent system, so the requirements of a game (read: Crysis) are not a tremendous concern for me. So let's meet the contestants.
A) Crysis - I respect PCG enough to take note of their choice for Game of the Year, and the demo was a blast to play.
B) The Witcher - I've heard a lot of good things about the game from friends and on the buzz frequency. I really appreciate the attempt to make a truly mature game, with difficult choices and plenty of morally questionable predicaments. It also had a solid demo.
C) Bioshock - So many good things have been said about the game that I don't think I really need to go into it. The demo was stellar, and the art design is amazing. Another great example of a game that operates in a moral gray area.
D) Write in - Think I'm a gaming philistine for picking only the above games? Let me know!
In honor of the ongoing election circus going on, we'll follow the town hall caucus model: argue for your choice and convince others to follow your lead. Voting ends 2/13 at 12 noon EST.
Thanks for the help.

Sell your soul to blizzard for some WoW, you know you want to.
If you have enough PC to run it well, Bioshock is MUCH better than the other two.
C.
B is also good, but C is a 'new classic'.

Of the ones listed, more people seem to love Bioshock than the other two. Oblivion might also be worth considering if you're into first-person RPG kinda things.
What games have you liked in the past? That would help inform a write-in.
Since WoW is my drug of choice at the moment, I'd agree with Hanta. Join the 10 million strong WoW cult!

Knowing what kind of games you enjoy the most would be helpful for recommending a write in. But of what you have listed, C. Hard to go wrong with Bioshock. It is also only $29 on Steam now!
You should rephrase the question into "what should I buy AFTER I buy and finish BioShock?"

If I'm going to be an ass, I might as well be a hot female sportscaster's ass.
Assuming 2/13 means 3/13 , I definitely vote:
c: Bioshock. Single-player only in this age of online-craziness. Plot-and-character driven. Emphasis on the experience, not the replayability. If that doesn't give you chills and make you want to snap that bad boy up like a mackerel after a minnow, take a pass.
But.. as mentioned, it helps to know what you like. Better accuracy through more data collection! What are the last five games you completed?

You won't go wrong with Bioshock. Crysis is sort of throwaway, The Witcher I haven't played, so can't vouch for that.

Going from your name and presuming that you like Brooks i'll say The Witcher - B.
Though if you're looking for a more short term popcorn movie style of game go for C.

I really can't imagine going much longer in your life without playing Bioshock. Even if you've heard all the spoilers.

haha I'm also the guy that will still be writing 2007 on my checks in June.
For those looking for more info: I do play WoW, but I haven't been on in a long time, and I'm thinking of suspending the account for a while and putting the money towards some other game (I've already gotten to 70 and now I'm just grinding the PVP), I've always been a huge fan of first person shooters and massive world roleplaying games (I probably put a few hundred hours into Oblivion and its TES predecessors).
The Current Score is
Bioshock : 8 enthusiastic votes
The Witcher : 2 and change
WoW : 2
D: 1 (could he mean this D: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D_(video_game) ?)
Custer's Revenge: 1 (Wild west Atari porn? how could one go wrong?)

-on L4DI'd wait until the re-release of The Witcher a couple months from now. The new features sound awesome! I started playing about a month ago and loved the game, but I stopped because I'm waiting for that update. It's a great game that will get better.
And until then, play Bioshock! It's a great experience.

Alright! voting's up. And with 99% of districts reporting here's the final tally:
Bioshock : 12
The Witcher : 2.75
WoW: 2 insidious suggestions
D: 1
Custer's Revenge: 1
Puzzle Quest: 1
CoD4: 1
CoH: 1
The winner, hands down is Bioshock. I think I'm going to KillTrash's suggestion and wait on The Witcher until the update.
Thanks everyone for the help.

QFT - that's my vote. I didn't like Bioshock... Of course, I don't like horror genre games, so that's just me. If Bioshock was set in a lush green field with pink bunnies, then maybe it'd get my vote.

Coupling that image with a Big Daddy and Little Sister walking around holding hands made me want to play it in Bioshock 2: The Terror of Solsbury Hill.

Damn, I forgot SOASE, but from the OP's comments I just figured him an FPS'r. If I had to pick between the two, I might have to go COD4, only because it's more social (it takes a dedicated group to do SOASE Multi).
