I'm so done with C&C! They totally got ran into the ground. C&C3 came out it was more of the same nothing at all new and fun, just spam units and win. So I'm not excited at all..
Xfire: Pharacon
Tempest says: "A team hat doe snot communicate and talk to each other about what the next move will be is going to lose."
EA is going C&C crazy! Also, I find it funny that so many people complain that C&C3 was the same old when that is what so many people were insisting EA should do for years and whining that they kept trying to mess with the formula.
Your favourite game is over-rated.
If they can recapture the old magic, I'm all for it. But if they try and do some crazy, reinvent-the-wheel bulls**t, then I will be pissed.
Egg Shen: Lo Pan is down there.
Jack Burton: Down where?
Egg Shen: Where is the universe?
I don't really blame EA. C&C3 was as conservative as it gets, but it also sold way, way better than any other RTS titles released in the past two years, even if you don't include the sales of the 360 version. The consumer has spoken.
RA2 hit the nail on the head but it and it's add-on was the last C&C game I played.
Do you ever walk alone like a drifter in the dark?
Ahem....
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The red alert franchise is one of my most favorite of all time.
I'm not really a girl. I just play one in video games.
There's no part of this announcement that I'm not happy with. ^_^

Great news. I wonder what fun unit's they can come up with this time.
I don't watch, I interact!
So will this C&C come with the "ability to zoom out and SEE the battlefield" feature?

First it was ME on PC, now the revival of RA. Happy days for a PC gamer!
Who Am I?
I enjoyed C&C 3: Tiberium Wars but found myself wishing they had created a modern RTS engine from the ground up that allowed for line of sight detection and some real physics. Imagine Company of Heroes with a C&C pace and units. If they don't, I think this will be C&C 3: TW with a new skin.

What's the downside, again? C&C3 with a new skin, Russians, the Chronosphere, Tesla towers, and Tanyas? I'd preorder just for that.

It was good at what it did, it just didn't have any legs. Terrain was pointless as enemies could see through it and would attempt to shoot at or chase you with no line of sight. You could only build on completely level ground. The visuals also grew old fast after seeing those mechs die with the exact same animation for the 1000th time. All I'm saying is that it wouldn't hurt if they didn't use a 5 year old engine this time around (modified C&C Generals engine).

I still need to play C&C3. The demo just didn't thrill me.

Hehe. Supposedly blizzard is using the Havok physics engine for SCII and they figured out line of sight in WCIII. That being said, I'm a little fearful that they aren't modernizing the game or interface in all the other areas.

Coming to PC, 360 and PS3, SP campaign is fully coop-enabled.
Armored Bears? Did I read this right? I might get it just for that.

Two screenshots have been released. Looks almost identical to C&C3, only without tiberium covering the entire map.

Truly gentlemen, we have reached the point where it is not only necessary, but prudent to arm bears.
Bring on the Chronoseals, baby!
And remember, the Japanese aren't commercially whaling. They're conducting "research". Like "researching how delicious this whale is". - Paleocon
Co-op campaign? Now that's something that gets me interested. I played C&C3 on console (my pc is a little underpowered these days) - the interface was certainly a struggle, but a lot of that could be ignored when having the fun of co-op skirmishes vs the cpu.

The Japanese better have sharks with friggin' laser beams on their heads.

Chronoseals! It amuses me SO MUCH.
Kane's Wrath? An expansion for C&C3? Sweet.

Why is the formatting broken in this thread ?
I loved C&C 3 so this announcement makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
And a co-op campaign sounds awesome.
