I created this thread so the Captains can get together and plan practices. So I will Start!

I try to play every night of the week, but Fridays are best for me, since I don't have to get up early the next day. I'll see what the rest of the team says.

I did not apply for the GWJ vs. OO draft because I knew I was going to be gone on the scheduled date, but if a member of a team cannot make it, I would be more than happen to sub into any open practice spot.

mon-thur is the best. I'd rather not on fridays, but if it's late enough and with enough warning i can swing it. Saturdays are hit/miss and Sunday's i can't make.

Folks seem to be pointing out that next Thursday is a holiday of some sort. Val Ent Eyes day? Or some such nonsense? Anyway, they're expressing a concern that their significant others would object to them gaming on this holiday, must be some kind of day of rest or something. Looks like Thursday is out.

Right, team Crit Rocket! is ready to live up to its name. A late night Monday match (8PM PST/11PM EST), or a match anytime on Sunday work best for us. Much of the team is West Coast, so any weekday matches will have to be late, also, Thursday and Saturday matches cause the most conflicts with our team.
Is there some web app thingy for setting up meeting availability times?
I bet that would make this easier. There's gotta be some Web2.0 dohickey out there somewhere for doing this.

Google Calendar, for those of us with Google accounts would work well for this.

Well, I know you can set up meetings, but I'm talking more of an availability tracker, where we could enter each team's general availabilities on a weekly basis and have intersections be highlighted. If gCal does that, groovy.

Google Calendar does track availability, but like all solutions like this, you can't say, "I'm available at x." Availability is the default status. You have to tell it when you're NOT available first, and that means scheduling a bunch of fake meetings to say that you're not available. And that means if your availability changes, you can't just update when you ARE available, you have to adjust when you're NOT available.

Actually, I just scheduled a bunch of recurring events for my own availability and Team critRocket!'s and in weekview, gCal does a good job of showing overlap of the fake events.
So instead of leaving availability empty, make meetings of when you're available(or rather, your team's "general" availability) and you can see the overlap. It's pretty nice.
So I guess we could make fake gMail accounts per team and set up calendars for them with recurring events that fill the overall availability times for the team as a whole(rather than each individual) to find intersections of when the teams could/should have a match.

Here's my availability(TF2) minus the Wednesday that 2 of our members can't make - basically MTThFSSu 9-11 CENTRAL, recurring forever along with Team critRocket!'s "general" availability from above. Basically MTWFSu 10-12 CENTRAL.
Except I forgot to delete 2/14. Woops.
Just a basic "what can I do with this" prototype, NOT "real".

Not really, you can only schedule individual events based only on a start-time.
Although starting a GWJTeams community might not be a bad idea.

By the sounds of it, we have a few teams that are ready to throw their schedules at each other and see what sticks. Just need to get organized and hear from people.

Mike this seems to fit nicely into what I have recieved from my team, I am getting a last sign off from my team but right now I would say it looks like a 90% yes.
So get your guys together and don't forget to bring some bacteen and bandages, your teams going to need it after SCS gets done with you

I have not planned any match dates or windows as OO has not selected their teams yet and I want to give some time for the teams to play together and have a practice or two. We will probably kick off the actual tourney around the first of March.
