LOST Season 4 Catch-All (SPOILERS)

...the 30th being tonight. It'll have a text commentary feature that'll let you get caught up with the series if you've been tuning in and out. The trailers and ads for the show have been showing off a few interesting tidbits, like the sinister motives of the boat people and Sawyer sounding like he's talking with an Irish accent. We'll find out tomorrow, I guess.

Has anybody seen the new commercials/music videos for Lost? The Sawyer "Bad to the Bone" and John Locke "Crazy" ones are hilarious. I looked for them on Youtube but I cannot locate them.

Edit: spoke too soon.

I just knew they would change the format so that the island is the flashback. So many unanswered things. I enjoy the episodes but not sure I like the way the story is going. Will have to see next week.

Also, we need the Oceanic commercial linked when it is available.

I long ago gave up trying to say "love it" or "hate it" and have just admitted I will be watching it regardless of how stellar or pathetic it becomes, or is on any given week. But I was only disappointed with this week because I wanted more.

Considering how everything was weaved together in the third season, and how well some of the lingering questions were answered, it makes me a little sad to know there are probably only 39 episodes left.

I hear ya. I was disappointed when I found out this was not a 2 hour season premiere but instead a 1 hour recap and then 1 hour new show. But I guess with only 8 episodes in the can, they'll give themselves the full 8 weeks hoping the strike is over soon. The 2 sides were talking again and rumors originally were it could be as soon as tomorrow, but I think now they're saying if anything it's not likely until mid- to end-February at the soonest.

I have been waiting for the Jack/Locke side choosing since the first season. Reminds me of the Marvel civil war stuff. Does this mean we are going to see forum tags of "I agree with John Locke" soon?

I think it's awesome they kicked off a season with a Hurley episode. I love Hurley episodes.

So, when Charlie showed up, was that crazy Hurley hallucinating again, or something more along the lines of Jack seeing his dad and Eko seeing his brother?

Who do you figure are the the six who made it off the island? Jack, Kate and Hurley are three. It was implied Kate was with somebody at the end of last season, meaning Sawyer may have made it off too. Whoever was in the coffin may be another. Hopefully Sun made it off, giving her a chance to survive. Of course, I may be wrong in assuming "the Oceanic Six" means only six made it off the island.

Would Michael and Walt count?

I haven't watched the show so that may have been addressed.

So glad it's back... though I'm somewhat conflicted between relief that the flashback system has been revamped, and that said revamping means the show is now 'The Nine' with foliage.

Sawyer went with Locke though, so Kate may not necessarily be with someone from the island. Maybe she couldn't stay away from Captain Reynolds...

Also, wasn't Ben in the coffin in the finale? Can't remember if we saw that or not.

Hurley went with Locke too... and then apologizes later for it...

They didn't show who was in the coffin if I recall correctly. Also, Hurley went with Locke and is obviously off the island as well, so I don't think it can be assumed that Sawyer didn't make it.

Not unless the smoke monster got off the island as well. They didn't come right out and say it, but it was established fairly clearly that all the supposed "hallucinations" people have been having on the island has actually been the smoke monster reading their minds and taking the form of people from their memories. My theory is still that it's some kind of nano swarm from one of Dharma's experiments but of course it's up for debate exactly what it is and what it's motives are. So, I'd say that Charlie was just good ole crazy Hurley seeing things, but you never know with this show.

bighoppa wrote:

They never opened the coffin, but that's the rumor. Mainly I think just based on the size of the coffin. Though it's a little odd that the funeral was down there in the middle of the ghetto. The other possibility is that it was Michael because Jack said something like whoever was in there "wasn't friend or family".

Only other person I can think of that might effect Jack so much as we saw in that episode would be if it was Locke. I could imagine Locke falling on hard times, not having friends, and not being able to cope if he was forcibly "rescued" from the island. I also think this could explain his desire to go back to the island and "fix" what he thinks he did wrong. That he needs to go and finish whatever they started now that Locke is gone and can't do it.

He was sitting in the rocking chair when Hurley looked through the window. Then another face suddenly appeared in the window and Hurley fell over backwards and ran away from the cabin.
