I've seen the trailers and the only thing that even comes close to making me crack a smile is "Will you stop kicking people into the well".
That scene looks pretty funny. I'll probably rent this one if I don't get around to seeing it in theaters. Definitely not a "must see", but probably good for an afternoon of humor.

"Grass grows, birds fly, sun shines and brudda.... I hurt people"
It doesn't look all that different than any of those 'Scary Movie' or 'Not Another Teen Movie' spoof movies. It's like rehashed humor from rehashing existing movies. Isn't that kind of post modern?
Don't besmirch the good name of the Kentucky Fried Movie with this lame Epic Movie/Date Movie/Scary Movie/etc. sub-garbage. Yes, sub-garbage, the kind of garbage that Mommy and Daddy garbage uses as a cautionary tale for Baby garbage.
It looks so mind-bogglingly awful that it's almost like a parody of parody movies. I mean... there's no actual humor on display, just "Hey, do you remember that one movie that was popular last year? Here, see some of its characters in a different context! SEE TEH FUNNAYZ ROFL LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!"

I walked out of Epic Movie so I do not plan on seeing Meet the Spartans. I figured they'd go for some great parody jokes but instead in Epic Movie they just went for low hanging fruit jokes that any group of guys would've made.
On the other hand, I still love Not Another Teen Movie. They did a storyline that didn't have to resort to random cut-aways to tell a joke. And you didn't need to see the movies they parodied to get the jokes.
Yeah, Not Another Teen Movie actually satirized the tropes of the genre it was parodying. It didn't just throw a bunch of shot-for-shot references to popular recent movies in a blender, which seems to be the new way to do these kind of movies.
It seems pretty predictable. I'm convinced that the Shrek baby is going to talk in ebonics, and that anything involving Britney Spears and Rambo will not be funny.
"Everyone's always in favour of saving Hitler's brain but when you put it in the body of a great white shark, ooh, suddenly you've gone too far."
edit: When I was as kid, I thought "Hot Shots" was funny.
I still think Hot Shots 2 is hilarious. You have to watch Rambo 3 first, and then that movie immediately after. They spoof so many scenes from that film.
IMO Hot Shots 2 was head and shoulders above crap like Scary Movie and especially Epic Movie (what were they thinking ? Was that one made by chimps ?).

Agreed. The original Scary Movie isn't bad but the series went downhill pretty quickly.
I want another and a GOOD Naked Gun movie.

It looks like crap, I don't want to see it but if anything would get me to go see it, it's the 0% rating for it at Rotten Tomatoes, When I was there earlier tonight...
I was playing some Halo last night and the kids started talking about how it was "the funniest movie in forever." That's when I decided that it must have no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

That's why I wonder if Hot Shots and the Naked Gun movies are still funny. I haven't seen them in a decade, and I was a kid. I wonder if in the future, "Meet the Spartans" will be as fondly remembered.

There's a amount of time, a knowing "wink wink" sensation that went into Hot Shots and Not Another Teen Movie, because they had, y'know, a smattering of wit and weren't literally trotting out the same 12 pop-culture references that had already been ground into dust on "Best Week Ever".
One of my fondest memories about Hot Shots was surfing channels back in 2003. The U.S. had literally just started its invasion of Iraq, and I flicked past HBO....
...they were playing Hot Shots. Literally, as the invasion started. That is either a astonishing case of coincidence, or someone in programming had the biggest balls on earth.

I was thinking it looked like an updated "Kentucky Fried Movie", which was pretty funny. (And better if you see it with someone who speaks Korean.)

KFM really created this genre. All the imitators like the Scary Movie series and others are just that: tired imitations.

For my money, nothing can touch the stylings of Zucker, Abrahams, Zucker movies (Airplane, Naked Gun, Hot Shots, Kentuky Fried Movie, etc.).
Unless you're talking about the exepectedly funny movies UHF (1989) (from Weird Al, no less) and The Boob Tube (1975).
