Other than being somewhat similar in the computer voice, I'm not hearing much resemblance. Maybe I'm reading too much into your use of the word 'suspiciously', but if you're asserting that Coulton stole, infringed, plagiarized the other song, I've got to disagree.
By the way, the tune itself and the delivery of it is suspiciously very similar to Erasure's "Video Killed A Radio Star".
