Broken Resolutions
Thursday, January 10th, 2008 - 1:13pm
Well, the new year is nigh two weeks old and that can mean only one thing: our resolutions are primed for breaking.
If you are one of those sad souls who have aspired, but failed, then I say lay out your shame here and let the healing begin.
I broke my resolution yesterday of not talking to my evil ex-girlfriend. No more, though!
You can't control the wind, but you can adjust your sails.

I resolved not to post on GWJ anymore. So far so good.

And man that dog looks like he's having a good time, but that monkey is f*cking into it. This isn't his recreation; this is his life and he knows it in a way I will never know anything. --Danjo Olivaw
DAMNIT!

I'm still on track.

I did the whole girl standard eat healthier exercise more one. I know I won't stick to it, but I figure every time I try it is better than nothing. So far so good though!
And Fennec, just Stop It!
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah, I know! I'm trying, I swear! Theres oogaba involved, though...

You are excused.

That was my resolution too.
Mine was to read (books) 20 mins a day at least. So far so good.

Powerful motivators, they are.
So far I've not really ate healthy like I said I would, seeing as how I came down with The Death that made me happy when I could keep something down. I didn't give a damn if it was soup, celery, or ice cream.

I'm still working on a resolution. I thought we had until April 15 to turn them in, or something.
Double post
(My new resolution is not to double post. Damn you, confusing internet buttons!)
Mmm...ice cream....you are not helping!!
I make the same resolution every new year, and so far have stuck to it without fail: do not make resolutions.
Egg Shen: Lo Pan is down there.
Jack Burton: Down where?
Egg Shen: Where is the universe?
I'm still okay on "use the library" instead of buying books. I will eventually fall off the wagon, but even if I cut the number I buy by 75% or so, I'll save a bundle.
“Why are we talking about this in the White House? History will not judge this kindly.” Atty Gen'l John Ashcroft, on secret NSC torture guideline discussions.
As close as you live to a library, there really is no excuse there.
As for my own resolutions, I'm still looking for a new job (so I can quit my crappy one), and the others are things I'll try to do throughout the year, so it's hard to say I failed in 2 weeks.

Yeah, you see the thing is, all the TPS reports are supposed to have a cover sheet attached from now on. Didn't you get the memo?

I'll get you another memo.

You know, I saw the memo. And I understand the policy. And the problem is just that I forgot the one time. And I've already taken care of it so it's not even really a problem anymore.
Well it turns out I'm not actually a failure but one of the doctor's I work for sure makes me feel like one.

So far I have already failed miserably at my one resolution: Get up on time without snoozing the alarm endlessly and going into work at a late hour. So sad...
In case anyone wanted it, here's last year's 2007 Resolutions thread.
ETA: I think I failed this one, especially now that I read it again.

I remember 2007 being a good year for teabags.
Mission accomplished.
