Cursor*10

It's a whole new year and we've got a fresh batch of Act Casual selections in the hopper, ready to distract you from workaday tribulations in the weeks ahead. 2008's first is Nekogames' nifty little puzzler, Cursor*10.

I'm hesitant to say much about Cursor*10, because I don't want to rob you of the fun that arises from figuring out how it works. Suffice it to say that it's short, there's a lot of pointing and clicking involved, and you probably haven't played anything quite like it.

Thanks to Malor for suggesting Cursor*10. If you'd like to suggest a game for Act Casual, send it to contact@gamerswithjobs.com.

That's awesome. I didn't quite get it until my fourth "life" because I kept doing things a little faster than the previous time and wasn't paying enough attention to what was going on.

Great fun the second time you try though

The creator of that game needs to be given some kind of award. That is an amazing mechanic to put into a game, and I love it.

I found myself wondering how the mechanic could be used in other games, and had the exact same thought.

I managed to get a highscore of 69. After that I think my brain would have melted a little. Very fun game though.

Do you want to, like, make out now or something?

No, actually now I just want to punch you. Alas, it was good while it lasted.

I got through the game which in itself isn't very difficult, but to get a proper high score I'd have to make notes and practice. Which isn't something I'd gladly do for a for a flash game.

The concept is okay, but I'd rather see more puzzles based on this idea rather then trying to optimize the walk through for the highest score.

Weird, I just played this game last night, and could not stop till I got 181 (which I think is the highest score possible)

I asked my wife the same thing last night. She replied with "stop being a moron and wash the damned dishes" -- Paleocon asking his wife about zombies

Imagine this in the Source engine, combined with the mechanics of Portal.

EDIT: Got a 187.

I practiced for a bit and I can now finish it on 5 cursors left if I can find the stairs on level 4 (like in the screenie) quickly enough, as well as click fast enough on the 100-clickbox. I seem to finish on 3 cursor life every time though hehe.
