Never have we been closer to the brink. The future of this website is perhaps in some significant jeopardy because some people feel that not giving Mass Effect Game of the Week honors is an act of unforgivable outrage if not rampant insubordination, but against Rock Band, that other game is a pale dot against the bright sun.
I must admit that I've been finding excuses to visit my local Best Buy to play their demo unit, and I always walk away even more excited than when I entered. I can't remember a game I've been this excited to play, with a stellar song list and great solo and multiplayer options, I'm completely sold. After trying to enjoy Guitar Hero III for a few weeks, and then realizing that half the songs in the Rock Band demo are already more fun than anything GHIII offers, I've been in full-on anticipation mode. I realize I'm a raving fanboy at this point, but I don't care even a little bit. Let's rock.
Meanwhile, for those of you in Canada who can't play Rock Band, you could always watch John Travolta cross-dress in Hairspray, or Bruce Willis prove you're never too old to do elaborate stunts in front of explosions in Live Free or Die Hard.

Having played both games, I can say that Rock Band takes the cake. It's a shame too, because Mass Effect is incredible in itself, and absolutely gorgeous.
Yet even then we ran like the wind,

Your list is missing the best looking console game at the moment.
I'm gonna try to grab the Rock Band Bundle during lunch on Tuesday. The one I'm going to isn't having a midnight sale (or at least the website says it's not) so hopefully they'll still have at least one shimmering and heavy box waiting for me.
Oh and it looks like you're missing Rock Band for PS2, unless if it got changed and I didn't notice.
