Xbox Live is playing up.

Lot of people having problems sending / receiving messages and starting multiplayer games.
Thread started afresh in here because:
1. I put in the Everything Else by mistake
2. Certis locked the other thread instead of moving it
2b. He also called me a wanker.
The wanker I can put up, but locking instead of moving? What... What's the world coming to?
It prevented us from playing GRAW last night as well -- nobody was able to connect.
But all I really wanted to do was post to point this out:

There was definately some strangeness going on last night on Live - I had hell getting both of our gamertags signed in to play Halo. The console froze afew times and scared the crap out of me. After about 20-30 mins, it seemed to get back to normal.

TYpos aside, Xbox live has been dreadful tonight. When in COD4 and inviting people to play, the system blade was locking for a minute or longer. Once they were in, they were often dropped without warning. I don't think it's COD4 problem, either.
If you didnt' know better, you'd think your 360 was crashing. It isn't, but something is terribly, terribly wrong with XBL.

Major Nelson just posted the following to his twitter: "IM'ing with e. He says that most of the LIVE issues should be behind us."
Either his definition of most is different than mine or he's full of it. I'm getting game invite popups; but can't see them in the messages tab. Every time I try "Join Session in Progress" I get and unable to connect error.

I had a helluva time last night trying to keep everyone in the party and on top of that, my mic wasn't working. I also noticed that whenever I search for matches, there's a 60 second delay where it freezes and then goes right into the normal loading process. I don't know if these are XBL issues or COD4-specific but they're all really annoying.
Lag used to be a lot worse back in the day. Hell, it took Jesus 3 days to respawn.

Still having problems, I think. I just went to xbox.com, which allowed me to log in, but when I pulled up my friends list it promptly said "This service is unavailable".

I know COD4 has been having issues. Tried playing with my brother on my lunch break and got 2 matches in before we just got sick of getting kicked from the party.
