Yikes, I see I have to PM someone to ask for access. Are there tryouts or group mockings? Just like to know the process before I attempt to get a password to group play sometime. Was hoping to jump in tonight, but considering I've not ask for access I don't think that's going to happen.
Also, assuming that I am granted access, is it best to go ahead and download custom maps? Do I simply save them in a TF2 folder somewhere (I assume there is one in Program Files/Valve or Steam or Some Such)?

There is significant tryouts... the most important one is to beat Ukick in a scout bat fight... and then the winner gets to bat Mex...
No tryouts needed! We is a friendly crew but mocking can be forthcoming =) At least to more veteran players =D
If you need a custom map, it'll download it for you, so I wouldn't worry about it...
I havent been around in a while (prepping for Wrath, then quit WoW alltogether) and I'd like to play with you guys but everything has changed. I'll be pm-ing nsmike now ^_^

About how long does it usually take to be added to the server mailing list? I PM'd nsmike a few days ago and I got an invite for the GWJ group within a day or so of requesting on the forum.
If it usually takes longer (like a week or so), that's alright, I was just wondering.
You all seem like a cool group and it'd be nice to play with a regular set of people (as opposed to randomly hitting pub servers).
