Hollywood... how about spending all those CGI resources on something that's actually interesting ?

Gee, I don't know... a Battlezone or a Mechwarrior movie perhaps ?

QFT. I would love to see a Battletech movie. I'm almost ashamed to think how low I'm willing to let my standards sink just to see a two regiments of battlemechs going toe-to-toe in the final 15 minutes.

They could even cast Freddy Prinze Jr. as Victor Steiner-Davion. I mean, he did alright in Wing Commander, right?

Fast Fact: If the number of zombie hunters world-wide were to decrease just 1.3% in the next year, the world would see a 50% rate of zombification by 2015.

Well so is Akira and X-files2, but i wouldn't hold your breath.

There's so many movies getting their name out there trying to get funding in place before the strike hits. As it stands now 2010 could be the worst year for cinmea in decades. People are reaching into their trash bins for movies that were passed on just so they can have things lined up for the upcomming year. While there will be a few gems here/there. Most of the stuff will be regurgitated drek. More so than we've seen in the past.

Edit: changed year from 2009 to 2010.

Despite enjoying the hell out of RE4, the Resident Evil storylines are terrible. The dialogue alone makes me want to put down the controller and find a different pasttime. The characters are dumb, their motivations absurd, and really all I can think while playing is how much more fun it would be with none of the useless exposition. Zombies. Shotguns. My character stuck at point A instead of point B. That's pretty much all I need to know.

I predict it will look pretty, and have little else to offer.

I'd love to see a movie with Jill Valentine, the "master of unlocking," and Ada Wang.

Ooo, nice. Or maybe a Planescape movie!

That would work.

"What can change the nature of a man?"

Sorry, too cerebral for Hollywood. The green-lighted plot would likely be some kind of formulaic love triangle between the Nameless One, Annah, and Ravel and alternately advertised as both an action film for the men and a romance film for the women. The surprise ending would be that a random white girl would win the love of the Nameless One instead, because Hollywood isn't into happy endings involving witches or demons. Perhaps it could even be marketed at children with a sort of Beauty and the Beast angle.

I'm picturing a Planescape movie animated in the same style as the Heavy Metal movies. Awesome.

The Fallout movie has a built in sequel as well. I mean, who WOULDN'T want to see the "emerging from the vault" scene on the big screen?

Remember that Gametrailers interview with Uwe Boll and David Jaffe? When asked if David Jaffe would let Uwe Boll direct a God of War movie, David Jaffe straight up said, "NO!" I'm not a huge David Jaffe fan, but Uwe Boll got owned!

I don't know, I'm a little worried. I haven't even seen ressurection because I'm not sure it'll be as stupidly entertaining as the second one. The first one was all right but.. hm. well, if the game dev's in on it maybe it'll be better. Who knows.

Don't bother with the third.

I agree that the first two are stupid entertainment and they're somehow still fun despite all the problems.

The third one is not. I saw it with two friends who also enjoy the first two as the silly movies they are. We spent half an hour discussing just how bad the third one sucked when we left the theater.

I think a CG movie could be good if done right. Odds on it being done right? Not even worth discussing

I was kinda fascinated by the original Final Fantasy movie although it was quite bad. FF7: Advent Children also wasn't that good, but entertaining nonetheless. I always wonder how well current computer systems can render CGI sequences so I'm constantly hoping that a new CGI movie gets released. I'm practically counting the days until photo-realism can be achieved in CGI. Therefore, I'm happy that this movie was announced. I wonder what it'll look like
