WoW BHA Kara - 11/05
Friday, October 26th, 2007 - 11:53am
Hey all,
So, Aran down to a heartbreaking 14%, and took down Chess while we were in the neighbourhood. Tonight's our last attempt at Aran for the week, and with luck we'll take him down without much trouble. People are getting really good at moving around, even to the point where we had 1 dps and 3 healers alive on one attempt for about 2 full minutes. So yeah, here we go!
Tuesday (7pm server) - Downed Attumen, Moroes, Opera (BBW) & Maiden
Friday (8pm server) - Curator down on first try with no deaths, Aran at 32%
Sunday (7pm server) - Downed Chess Event, Aran at 14%
Monday (7pm server) - Aran at 2%...

Count Ivan in Krindle....someone has to stop you from solo'in KARA. I am available for all four nights. BUT...not to confuse you...Opera is all i need gear-wise for the first night. Just to chew on as far as working groups and ALWAYS willing to lend my DPS on all first-night bosses. Would it be smart maybe to use Hector on the first 3 bosses?...or would Ivan's DPS be needed?!?!?
The key to victory is to not suck as bad as the other side.
Val and I will definitely be available for Tuesday, the 30th. She can be DPS and I'll take whatever role is best served for the group. Aes is a better character atm (by the numbers), but I would bring Sun if an OT is a bigger need.
[Edit] Beyond Tuesday, it's really hard to say. I'd have to talk with Val about her schedule and it would also depend on whether or not we have characters strong enough to advance further into Kara than a first night.

I realized last night that I could really use the cloak that Moroes drops. Somehow I missed that he dropped a very nice epic caster cloak. Believe it or not, I am still wearing a green cloak. And since shackle is good to have for the first night, I would like to run tuesday.
I don't think I will be available Friday night.
Sign me up for Sunday night also.
Id love to come in my ret spec, but i might not have the numbers as of yet. Im available as either ret or holy depending on need.
Maloratus is up for all nights. Count me in. Thanks

Okay, so updated the listing...
Crazy, probably best to bring Hector the first night so he can get some upgrades in there, likely going to need Crazyivan for the DPS on the following nights.
Friday is (as usual) dependent on how well the Tuesday run goes. If there is still Pre-Curator content left to deal with, we will finish it off on Friday. If not, then the Curator stuff will come into play at that point.
I'm showing Val at 622 spell damage and 28 mp5 while casting, and a sweet 26.1% crit rate. The mp5 will likely hurt the most, but if you guys can get her a couple more upgrades, I see no reason why the both of you can't come with on the Curator run
I'll also slot Az as an Alt for Friday, and he can have my place if you guys are still working on Pre-Curator stuff. Heck, if Az is able to get the heroic libram and slot himself about 2k more health, you might be able to take a shot at Curator and let me sit out on that one

Count me in for Tuesday 10/30
Cyrana Mage 80 ~ Artesia Druid 72
Cyranna Shaman 62 ~ Acereri - DK 61 ~ Artasian - Priest 59 ~ Lenna - Rogue 60
I'll slot you for Holy Hanta
Does Mal need anything from the first 4 encounters? If not, it might be better to have Epe start getting some gear if he needs anything, or I should slot you as an alt so that less geared people (like Cyrana) have a chance at some upgrades.

EDIT:
Remember that the listings I currently show are not FOR SURE to run. We're going to get more of the lesser geared people in the first nights, and the higher geared people on the later nights. So people like Crazy and Mal, you guys MIGHT get bumped from that first night if someone is more needing (even Krindle isn't expected for all four nights, so it's likely you guys won't be in for all four either).

Are you able to come just Tuesday or multiple nights too Hanta?

Oh, so thats how its going to be. I see.
I've seen your Ret gear...wait for the patch
Besides, we're still very short on healers to the point I'm thinking about speccing Holy to give us an extra option.

Oh, this guild has too many healers! I'm going shadow and can DPS if you need me. Ok, I'm kidding. But seriously, I'm available any nights you need me. Sign me up wherever. Thanks!
Krindle, I checked Atlas Loot and ... Wolfslayer Sniper Riffle from the Big Bad Wolk ... is an upgrade.
And, sometimes it is hard to tell what is and what is not an upgrade. The Worgen Claw Necklace might be an upgrade from Midnight.
And, of course, wouldn't it be fun th have the Fiery Warhorse's Reins. Other than that, Maloratus is good. For sure, Epe needs lots and would love to come.

Alright Mal
As long as you are aware of specific loot, you should be in on that first day. The only reason I'm being cautious about our more geared DPS is because if there we have more people for the later runs, and some people weren't in on those first few nights, the people who have run 2 or 3 times are more likely to get "bumped" for another DPS. I just want to make sure you and Crazy are aware of that.

Hehe,
I've organized the lists a little better to make sure that it's more paced throughout the week. I've currently got Jut slotted as an alt, which will be changed to a third healer provided there isn't anyone else who needs gear from those first encounter. As well, I'll step in if Vil is unavailable, but with my experience, it's better to have two different types of tanks, since it'll give you more options. I've also put in what we need to down Curator, and given we have 3 healers, it'll be 3 waves of sparks, so more of an endurance fight. We will need more ranged Dps, and have the option of subbing in a melee dps at the same time.
Disclaimer: Listings subject to change based on what guildies need/want and how often they are scheduled to run.

After running that first night with Aes, I don't see why it would take more than 3 hours to do the first 4 bosses (Attumen, Maiden, Opera, Moroes). I would think it would become even easier with experience
That said... are we considering shortening up the runs and running more nights (at least until we have two kara groups)? There's a lot to be said for that. Two hour Kara runs would hold great appeal.

No problem brother K.....as far as gear goes, Opera is the only event that gives me upgrades (Legacy and the Wolf rifle). I see no need to run hector at all if we have the numbers/mixes. Once those 2 beauties drop, no more "might" for good ol' crazy...just put the "SALV ME PLEASE" above my head like a good DPS'er

Well, you can definitely open up the way to Curator by taking down Moroes and then Opera in ~90 minutes, then work your way to Curator on the first night and still keep it under 3 hours.
Attumen and Maiden are optional.

Krin,
re: Az and Curator: I've got 10.2k hp unbuffed, 12k armor, uncrushable - those are the reqs you have in the other thread (logged out in 5-man duds btw). Are you saying 12k hp for Curator? That's gonna be tough with or without the Libram. Started collecting the Furies deck the other day for the 51 stam, but even so it's 4 weeks until the Faire.
I'd love a shot at the Wrynn dynasty grieves, of course, particularly since you've got 'em. Willing to play whatever role is needed in the fight, of course.
Btw - are we prioritizing slotting mains over alts? I ask because a person can only play one at a time; if a DPS alt of a DPS main gets geared, there are no more geared players than before. In the cases where someone's alt plays a different role than the main (like you and Sun), then the group gain options, I suppose. In any case, we need more players with at least one geared character to hit 25-mans. Not trying to step on any toes here, just something to think about.

I've got Maiden pushed to the second night just in case. If the raid wants to take her down too, go for it. If anything, that'll allow the Friday group to get a quicker jump start on Curator, but I like to be conservative
As for trying our Curator, we still don't have that tin can on farm yet, and I'm leery about stepping away from him just yet. 10.2k is probably acceptable along with the uncrit/uncrush, but it does make it more difficult on the healers. The last couple runs, there were some close calls for me, and when the healers run OOM, it's much easier to take the extra hit and pop whatever cooldowns you have (Moroes trink is good for that, LoH of course, extra pots on hand) - anything to buy more time. The less HP you have, the less likely you'll be able to survive it. We have only downed him ONCE with our current guildies, we would need 3 times in a row to say it's on farm. That's generally when I bow out of an encounter. I'd suggest waiting on it this week, and possibly have you in there next week.
For your other question, priority is definitely given to Mains over Alts, and that will be the case. If there are not a full raid off people who still need gear, rep, etc., priority then goes to anyone who needs it and can fill the appropriate slot.
Likewise, I forgot that Vilius will be unavailable next week (or so I remember him mentioning), so unless another Tank wants to speak up on it, I'll be grabbing that role on Tuesday (if we get R&J again this week, so help me...).
I also noticed that two people looking to get consistently in on the runs (Tibbsy and Dhalvid) haven't signed up yet, so I'm expecting them to be somewhere listed too - and technically Dhal could do the OT thing on Midnight and Opera.

If we are done with the first 4 by friday slot 'lique in for Friday and Sunday. That monday I sadly have to work (the price of being management *sigh*). I plan to spend some time re-gemming this week to get the hit rating up a bit as much as it is gonna kill me to loose AP (so close to 2k I can taste it). If we get R&J and my daggers are needed on friday, let me know and I will get out of work early (*giggle* the bonus to OT the following week), otherwise I will sit out till sunday and cheer everyone on.

Actually, Opera is a Tuesday event Band, and if we are cursed enough to get that encounter again, we may have to get you in there for the extra interrupts (though we do have TWO mages on Tuesday, so we might be set on it). We currently have 0 melee dps on Friday's run, and subsequent runs to follow, though we haven't heard from Luna or Dhalvid yet. While Curator makes it tough on the melee, melee on Aran is very beneficial (not affected by the silence, don't have to move in Fire Wreaths or Blizzard).
I will slot you for both Friday and Sunday though for now
Ditto, I'm hoping Gloc is in a similar position, where we only take him along when needed for extra DPS (like Curator, and Hateful Bolt absorber). But I'm pretty sure Tibbsy will be able to fill that slot pretty good

Krin: Just don't forget to slot Bandolique as currently you have my husband slotted and well we all know the kind of melee dps a holy pally can do. I believe Hanta said around 50 with 100 crits
Those work well for me and I will be the big meanie at work and say "Holy sheep dip, its 5:30, carry on my fine workers I am out"
