WoW BHA - 2 Kara Raids in the future
Hey All,
As promised, I've started this thread to look and start organizing two Kara raids each week. This is meant to get more people into the raids quicker, and assuming around 15 people in each group, upon completion, we could start looking at the 25man raids!!! ![]()
So anyways, I'm going to post a secondary thread, basically meant to organize people first by their role, second by their availability, and hopefully we'll have a good ability to simultaneously work on 2 Kara raids at once. Before we really get into this though, I want our beloved guild leader to chime in on this and give her thoughts. So for now, this is just a list of people and their classes that are able to do Kara raiding. Please let me know if I forget anyone:
Krindle (Tank - Pal)
Azorius (Tank - Pal)
Reap (Tank - Warr)
Vilius (Tank - Dru)
Nightdreamer (Tank - Warr)
*Sunseeker (Tank - Pal)
Juturna (Healer - Pri)
Aesildur (Healer - Pri)
Khushmynta (Healer - Dru)
Hantaxp (Healer - Pal)
Stormspain (Healer - Pal)
Trollslayer (DPS - Hun)
Crazyivan (DPS - Hun), *Crazyhector (DPS - Mag)
Maloratus (DPS - Hun), *Epenetus (DPS - Rog)
Copingsaw (DPS - Pri)
Monolei (DPS - Pri)
Valleja (DPS - Mag)
Cyrana (DPS - Mag)
*Silve (DPS - Mag)
Terase (DPS - Dru)
Tibbsy (DPS - Warl)
Blastoff (DPS - Warl)
Joedeth (DPS - Warl)
Fiddles (DPS - Warl)
Salire (DPS - Sha)
Fignewber (DPS - Sha)
Bandolique (DPS - Rog)
Lunazul (DPS - Rog)
*Shanker (DPS - Rog)
Dhalvid (DPS - Warr)
*toons of player counted in another group, not counted below
Total Count:
Tanks - 5
Healers - 5
DPS - 17
If our aim was 30 players, we're currently 3 short, and would want 3 tanks, 4 healers and 8 DPS available for each group. We're solid on DPS, though slightly short a tank and a few healers to fill in when someone is unavailable.

Honestly, I think if we could get Krindle to tank Al Qaeda, this world would be a much safer place.
Super K - The "Anti-Wipe"

I'm locking in Tuesday's as my WoW night. So count Cyrana in for those. Other days of the week will be catch as catch can.
Cyrana Mage 80 ~ Artesia Druid 72
Cyranna Shaman 62 ~ Acereri - DK 61 ~ Artasian - Priest 59 ~ Lenna - Rogue 60
Good to know, but we're not planning any runs yet
Just looking to see who is available to run Kara - we'll sort out times and schedules once we got a list down, and once we get some input from boss-lady Khush!

Count Bandolique and i as not being able to run at the same time as well... til i get her a new computer. Latency on her machine is awful for as good a system as it is.

You forgot Salire and Fiddles who are both now keyed although I haven't seen either post expressing an interest in Kara or what their availability is.
No idea of Fig's interest, but he's come before.

Is Blyvie keyed? He's not listed.
I *think* Joedeth can only go if we create a late run. How late I don't know. I might be getting ahead of things.

Blyvie is not keyed, no. He just needs SV, Arc, then BM, though... which can easily be done in under 2 hours of effort.
It would be nice if we come up short of 2 groups, that we could take the remaining people and run some heroics instead.

So we gotta get him Keyed this weekend!

Even if keyed, my gear needs some serious bandaids. I am well under where I need to be. I have an idea of things that I need and where to get them, time has just been a problem for the last week. I would like to try and get keyed this weekend though, that sounds like a good plan.
Miristaa - 80 Enhance Sham
Klios - 74 Arcane Mage
I am keyed but right now, my schedule is bad until the end of this month. I don't know what my availability is next month and I won't know until it starts. Also, like Bly, my gear is lacking (or I feel it is) so I'm more content in running 5-mans than doing Kara at the moment. I can help out with getting Bly keyed this weekend too.
Thats a pretty nice 25 man setup.. ideally you want 1-2 more healers.. 1-2 less pure Tanks (DPS warriors can OT in certain places in 25 mans) but thats a nice solid start on getting a 25 man going..
Ideally you really really want a nice Resto shaman.. that chain heal is uber.

My *current* availability is thus:
M: 3PM
T: 8PM
W: 8PM
Th: 9PM
F: 9PM
Sa: Varies
Sun: Varies
My schedule frequently changes between work, school, and the National Guard. While I wouldn't be adverse to Main Tanking a run, it would likely be a single day a week thing.
It's very unrealistic this semester to plan my runs around Reap for a couple of reasons. While he meets the tanking requirements (490+, blah, blah) he's still undergeared, and I really only have him Prot. spec to get my nethers for the Lionheart Champion.
Additionally, I haven't even tried tanking Heroics yet but I feel confident in my ability to handle the more simple runs.
Edit: I'm not saying no to tanking... just no until I get my epic flyer and can afford to respec eight times a week with him.

The later the better.
Still, once in awhile the Mrs. gives me dispensation to do oddly timed runs, so I'll maybe make a point of sorting it out so I can go in the near future. I'd like to see more of Kara than the Curator.

Shhh Guru... next thing I know people will be asking me to respec.
Again, I'm just making a list of the people
I don't want to start planning schedules or anything until we get input from the boss. So right now, it's more a matter of "can I put in time to be in a raid or not". Whether it's weird times or spontaneous will be sorted out later. I just need to know if I missed anyone, or if anyone on the list isn't keyed, or doesn't plan on raiding.

I thought that was the plan all along.
I can tank and or off tank. Regardless of what some people think.

So you go both ways?
Dhal......you are a complete animal. We know what you can do and what are capable of, BUT how to control you is what we are trying to figure out...NO YOU CAN'T SOLO CURATOR!!!!!
The key to victory is to not suck as bad as the other side.
oo..shoot...forgot why I was here. Count me in for whatever you need. Ivan is geared and flexable with a short or long leash for Sir Squirt.
Hector is keyed and geared well enough for the beginning sequences, but has not stepped foot inside.
The key to victory is to not suck as bad as the other side.
It is my plan, when/if I come back.
I'd like to add Vel to the list, but I have no idea on the timeframe of my return right now. I might have more information in about 2 months.

Remember guys, we're still short on healers to be able to run 2 Kara groups during the same week. For the time being, we will continue our routine of Tuesday, Friday, Sunday, but I'm thinking we might want to try a later Friday time to get some other people involved. I'm pretty sure we'll have a solid go at it this next week, hopefully downing Aran and Illhoof in the process, and get ourselves close to fully cleared this damned place.
Usually there's more demand for Runs when we have a week off, so I'm even going to suggest 4 potential nights, since we have so many people. The only problem with that is getting enough of the truly geared people together for the Curator+ content (we still need more practice putting Curator on farm and learning the Aran fight). But I think our chances are pretty solid.
Right now, this thread is meant as a head count only. When we reach the appropriate amount of people, we can start looking into 2 groups, but right now, we still need to recruit a few more healers (pref shammy and druid since those are where we currently lack), and MAYBE an additional feral tank (since we have 2 F/T pally and warrior tanks). Gearing up is still an issue too and I cannot stress the suggested numbers enough for anyone looking to go beyond Curator - we still have very few people at that stage (maybe 12...).

We miss ya, Pur!
And I think it goes without saying that in GWJ, everyone plays the class and spec of his or her choice, and no one should feel the least pressure to do otherwise. Big props to Blizzard for finally deciding to make that viable in a raid setting. We know and love the Prot Pally...now, cry havoc and let slip the Ret Pally!
...also Enhance Shammy threat reduction, etc. etc.

Val's been itching to level a healer.. currently, she has her 32 priest, but she and I were just talking about her little Shaman (16th or so I think) that she could switch to. I know she'd like to have an option B just like I do. Of course, that'll be down the road.
Still, she loves having goals and leveling as much as I do.
Sun's numbers are getting very close to the baseline for Kara, but I think it's still quite a bit of work to reach all the numbers and necessary alternative gear to tank.
Aes, though, I am not as sure as to where he fits in. His +heal and mp5 casting are solid... just not sure about his Health and Mana Pool just yet. Outside of oodles of badges, though, and a couple of drops, he's starting to run out of upgrade options. Gems and Enchants, though, are still fairly wide open.

Question: Are you expecting that over the course of a week, the compositions of the various groups will change? For instance, you're talking three tanks and healers per group. On our opening nights, we run with two of each; on Curator I think the last successful run featured one tank and two healers.
We can build in extras to allow for people missing, or do the unified sign up that I mentioned, which lets us have two groups' worth of healers right now if (like last week) we have four willing to run.
The advantage of that system is that it lets us plan every week for exactly what is available that week.
We also probably need to do sign-ups well in advance and ask everyone to RSVP by then end of Sunday so the RLs have a full day to figure out the best group compositions.
All that said, I don't know if we've had a week yet where we should have fielded two teams, but a unified sign-up tells you as soon as it is time. We got 14 for Tuesday last week, so we had one group. Suppose we get 17 this week, and 21 the next: we immediately know we can run two groups.
In weeks we only run one group, maybe we focus on getting newer folks in on the early nights, and maybe we do four runs in a week but the majority of people only run two nights. Also we give some thought as to who needs what loot.
As an aside, if anyone hasn't looked at the loot tables of the first four bosses, you really should so you know who has the drops you need; it also speeds up looting.
Just some ideas...

For Aes, there's a Curator reqs page around here somewhere; I know Cope said he thought you were geared for it. I would suggest that if you're running out of pre-Kara upgrades (not counting Heroic and badge stuff), that's a sign that one is ready.
These are also just my opinions and should not be confused with those of the leadership.

i know that bandolyn is one great healer with lots of Kara experience. i bet he will do GWJ kara raids when we need him.

No Fed. Once you are in group A or B, that is where you stay for the week. Once saved to an instance, I believe it mucks it up if you switch around and the other group hasn't gotten as far.
