Great, now I'm going to have the song from the first level stuck in my head all day.

I was talking with Parallax the other day about how this would be a great IP for Capcom to bring back these days... Glad to see they think the same!

I don't agree. They look technically impressive, but they don't excite me. It's another futuristic game. Part of Bionic Commando's appeal now is that it makes us think of more innocent times in gaming; memories of primary colours and simple control schemes.

They should try to evoke those with this new version.

It's a trick. Get an axe.

I agree 1Dgaf. It should be a platformer first and a puzzler / shooter second.

Bionic Commando's appeal is the idea of having a grappling arm that allows me to freaking launch myself all over the place, with guns. I think you're just stuck in the 1980's nostalgia mindset. Screw that, gimme a new updated BC!

While I agree, I just don't know that these screenshots represent that game we'd all like.

I didn't even look at them (mostly because I can't here) and I don't think it's really relevant. I like the concept of the game. I like the idea of taking that concept and updating it for today's systems in a new game.

I wish they'd keep it a side scroller. Basically the perfect Bionic Commando for me today would be the original game with new 1080p graphics.

But then, I don't like the 3D Sonic games either, and Mario 64 did nothing for me. I guess I just prefer the original gameplay.

I don't understand what you are disagreeing with. Screenshots show graphical prowess, with little inference to playstyle.
I do have a certain nostalgic view on a sequel that is so long after it's predecessor, which makes me hopeful that they do get the control scheme and story correct. But since these factors remain unknown, I am limited to say that it looks promising to me, and I am hopeful.

The screens don't look promising to me, since they suggest that the game will be dark, sombre and full of revenge stories. The graphics are an indicator to the style and plot of the game, hinting at what the mechanics might be too.

Another one I wouldn't mind them redoing is Stryder.....but anyways, I loved the original BC, and will at least rent the new BC if they have a version on the 360.

Please please Capcom, don't screw this up now that you've decided to bring it back. Do to this what Retro and Nintendo did with Metroid, not what Midway did with Spy Hunter.

Its one of those games that didnt really age well... I played it again recently and was thinking how much fun I had with it when it first came out (that last level was a bitch to finish btw) BUT about 5 min. into the game and 10 deaths later I said..

wtf how do I jump?

Aint nothing new about the world order..it's been playing since the day they put George Washington on a quarter

Make a game that plays like Crackdown with a bitchin' bionic grappling arm and an actual storyline and I'm all over it.

Voice of the BC announced. . .

Mike Patton of Faith No More.

He's also the voice of "the eponymous possessive primeval force in the video game The Darkness" and "Portal as the voice of The Anger Sphere" (wikipedia).

If this game doesn't have zombie Hitler, I will be quite disappointed.

Aside from that, I question how much fun the bionic arm is outside of a 2d side-scrolled setting. The arm was, for all intent and purpose, an augmented jump mechanism. I feel like this would be lost outside of a platformer. I'm usually wrong about these things though.

Not to keep harping on it, but augmented jumping was brilliant in Crackdown.

And the zombies in Left 4 Dead. Patton has been an outspoken gamer forever. It's cool to see him getting so much voice acting work in games.

The Debut Trailer is up and I gotta admit that I'm impressed.

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/26558.html

No HD trailer yet, but this one gets the job done.

This definitely looks better than I would have thought. I'm cautiously optimistic at this point.

The guys voice is too gravelly but the remix of the original BC theme is awesome.

I bet a high-rez version of the trailer would look stunning.

I'm not convinced that trailer contains actual gameplay. It looks remarkably similar to web swinging in Spiderman.

BTW, the trailer looked good. The game has potential.

The graphics are shiny and the swinging mechanic looks right, but the footage in the trailer just shouts "prerendered." I could almost be a reskinned Spiderman, I kind of hope this isn't how the game actually plays.

The voice actor sounds like he's doing a really bad Snake impression. Hearing that music again made me smile, though. I hope it turns out well.
