WCGN: Tuesday night TF2
Time:
10/23/2007 - 21:30 - 10/23/2007 - 23:30
Description:
West Coast Gaming Night, all Goodjers welcome regardless of locale. We'll meet up in the Steam Goodjer chat room and decide if we want to head to Stan's Lounge or surf for a good pub server.
If we go to the pubs, it is a good idea to have Ventrillo or Teamspeak installed. (Group: is there a consensus on which we prefer? I know we used TS for SWAT, but Vent seems to be a little better, IMHO)
*Edit*
I've gone ahead and made this an ongoing event. At the moment there doesn't seem to be a need to schedule TF2 matches, since the server is full more evenings than not, but I'm excited to play w/ the WCGN folks again and would like to reinstitute the tradition. Even if there are no beanbag shotties and tazers this time around. :-(

*sigh* I'll be in the great northwest on the first night of the resurrected WCGN. Bummer.

I'm loaded and ready.
However, the 16th is my son's birthday. Sorry but I'll be missing the revival night, as well. Keep it coming, we'll get everyone in the room at some point.
Oh crumbs, I'm all thumbs laying here with you. You're beautiful and busty and I'm a little rusty - I've forgotten what to do...
I'm greatly hoping that WCGN comes back as a weekly thing, so plenty of opportunities to get back in the swing of things. Athough, there is no tk'ing or tazers, so we'll have to find another way to annoy each other.
Right now I count 1 vote for TS, 1 for Vent. Either is fine, but it is probably best to make a call by Monday so we can all get installed and configured. The internal game chat is rather excellent, but it only offers a team channel, so if we go to pub servers we'll likely want another option.

I prefer Ventrilo, but TS is fine as well. Because of my garbage audio drivers, I can't turn my mic up enough to be heard in the in-game chat, only TS/Vent.
I can't commit to every week, but I'll be game for this coming Tuesday.
Now with Xbox Live: Redhwk GWJ
I have a late night class on tuesdays but I'll stop in after if anyone's still playing.
Tuesday night is movie night in this household...ah well.
If it's dead, it's probably me.
I'm in, provided I can install TS/Vent onto my Mac, and no one minds hearing my audio going when I chat.

2 votes for Ventrilo, 1 for TS. Anyone else have an opinion?

Vent sounds better. Vote cast.

I only have Vent experience, albeit limited. I vote for Vent and I'll attempt to learn to use the program better

Vent!
This from the guy who won't even be there. Vent has better sound quality, and will work with a smaller group like WCGN, although WCGN doesn't have to stay small
Xbox Live gamertag Druidpeak
Vent. I'll be there.

I prefer vent, though not sure if I will be able to play yet. I'll try to be there though.

Alrighty, it looks like we have a winner. If you are new to Ventrillo, read the GWJ Ventrillo FAQ and I'll see you all on Tuesday night. I'm really happy that WCGN is making a comeback. I'm really hoping that we can make it weekly again, so please speak up if there is a night that works better than Tuesdays. I know a couple have mentioned that, I doubt we can find a perfect time for everyone, but we're a pretty flexible bunch.
Anyway, I'm excited to get a regular gaming night back up and running so I just sort of cracked the whip on this and put things on the schedule. If I'm being pushy or stepping on toes, I can back off and chill out.

I might be able to make it. Had to build a new system.

On Steam it says the event starts at 11:30pm pacific. Is there anywhere I can change time settings so it displays proper time in Steam.
Hmmm. I'm at work, so I can only log into the Steam Community Website, but it says 8:30 pm for me. I also can't see any way to set a time zone or even an indication of time-zone. I'll check the steam client when I get home, but that won't be until 6:30 or 7 pst. For sure we'll get this worked out for future. Sorry for the current confusion.

hmm. 9:30 to 11:30 runs kinda late in mountain time..

My theory is that it only sets the correct timezone if you enter your location in your steam id, including your city. The city is included in Oso's profile (as well as my own), but not in subaltern's.
Computers don't make errors. What they do, they do on purpose. By now your name and particulars have been fed into every laptop, desktop, mainframe and supermarket scanner that collectively make up the global information conspiracy.
