Is Divine Divinty as good as I've heard it is?

I've heard a lot of positive feeedback about Divine Divinity but here in the UK the game has had a lot of bad reviews, being a fan of RPG games I think I'd quite like this but I'd like to hear your opinions on said game ('cause I trust you guys to give good unbiased opinions!)

You can pretty much read my thoughts here. This is the review I wrote on DD last October back at Evil Avatar.

Cheers for the redirect Elysium I hadn''t forgotten you''d written that but I''m feeling tired today (from the whipping) and couldn''t be bothered looking for the old reviews!

Well there is a demo out there with something like 10 hours of gameplay to it. Give it a try and see for yourself.

Personally I didn''t much enjoy it.

My days of not taking you seriously have certainly come to a middle.

Don''t listen to Sinatar, he''s crazy in the head there days.

Divine Divinity is an excellent old school RPG if you like that sort of thing. Elysium''s review pretty much nailed it.

Certis beat me to it. - Elysium

Divine Divinty=Diablo 2 meets Baldur''s Gate. If you like either of these games I suggest you give it a go. Personally I found the game to be quite entertaining. It carried a lot of polish and addictive gameplay.

Sometimes, when I get bored, I put a little cape on my penis, and we fly around solving mysteries.

Don''t let the comparisons to Diablo fool you. I personally don''t find Diablo/Diablo 2 very entertaining. I picked Divine Divinity up, in spite of it''s stupid name, and was more than pleasantly surprised.

The first couple of hours I was thinking, ""Oh no, this dungeon is a bottomless pit! It''s Diablo all over again!"" And then I got out and found this massive world to wander around. I took this immediately took advantage of this new found freedom to wander too far off the beaten path and was proptly mutilated by some nasty trolls. That''s when I fell in love with the game.

And that''s not the first time I fell in love with it. Everytime I''d go someplace new, talk to someone else, or do whatever, I''d find something new to love about the game. If you like RPGs, then you should own this game.

Worst signature ever.
