What's your fall lineup look like?
So, we're starting to enter the big release season and the tsunami of gaming awesomeness has already started rushing in. I was thinking last night about the sheer number of games I want to buy before year end and aside from the terrifying financial aspect of that, I'm wondering where I'll find time to play all these games and still you know, work and stuff. Yet, none of those concerns have dampened my desire to play (and likely own) all of these. So, what're you stoked for this fall (keep it to stuff coming out by year-end)? Here's my list in no particular order:
World In Conflict - PC
Team Fortress 2 - PC
Portal - PC
Half-Life 2 Episode 2 - PC
Call of Duty 4 - PC
The Witcher - PC
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - Wii
Mercury Meltdown Revolution - Wii
Rock Band (Full Package) - 360 or PS3 (Haven't decided yet, depends on possible 360 DRM changes)
Guitar Hero III - 360
Ace Combat 6 - 360
Crysis - PC
Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts - PC
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction - PS3
Mass Effect - 360
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - PS3 (Maybe)
Sega Rally Revo - 360
Enemy Territory: Quake Wars - PC
Army of Two - 360 (Most likely a rental)
Halo 3 - 360
Super Mario Galaxy - Wii
Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Wii
TimeShift - 360 (Most likely a rental)
Assassin's Creed - 360
Project Gotham Racing 4 - 360
Haze - PS3
BlackSite: Area 51 - 360 (Most likely a rental)
This is all I can think of right now. The terrifying part is assuming I'm buying all these things and what their costs are, this will cost me about $1670CDN which after sales tax where I live is $1903.80CDN. That's...well that's an impossibility. I guess I'll be renting more of these than I'd planned or waiting for some to hit the bargain bin. Two of these are already out as well but they're considered fall heavy hitters so I included them. My girlfriend wants GH3 and Rock Band too so hopefully, I can get her to pitch in on those. ![]()
EDIT: CRAP! I forgot Unreal Tournament 3 for PC and Zelda Phantom Hourglass for DS. Oh help me...
EDIT 2: Hellgate London, NWN2 Expansion and Contra 4. Damn you all. ![]()

No doubt, PA. My list is considerably shorter than yours, and I'm already running into funding issues. I am currently lusting after:
The Orange Box
World in Conflict
Metroid Prime 3
Bioshock's not even finished yet, and that doesn't take into account the releases in the coming months (at minimum, GH3 and Rock Band). I don't think I had these issues before I started listening to the Conference Call....

This is definitely another great year for gaming.
Half-Life: Episode 2 (PC)
Portal (PC)
Team Fortress 2 (PC)
Assassin's Creed (PC)
World In Conflict (PC)
Super Mario Galaxies (Wii)
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii)

Halo 3 (360)
I'm trying to keep my list as small as possible as I'm low on cash.
Hmm..
Blazing Angels 2 (picked up already)
Orange Box
Thrillville: Off the Rails
Halo 3
Flatout: Ultimate Carnage
MaxShrek .. Do it first, do it yourself, and keep on doing it.
Horror Vacui
The way it's looking: Team Fortress 2 until about 2012 when the world ends.
Maybe Rock Band in between frags. =)
The man wears a bucket of KFC on his head. I wouldn't expect anything less. - Pred

Orange Box
UT3
Call of Duty 4
Halo 3
Other stuff I want but will wait on demos and/or word of mouth:
Crysis
Kane and Lynch
AA: True Soldiers
Area 51: Blacksite
I'm just glad Mercenaries 2, GTA 4 and Left4Dead were pushed out to next year. This fall is insane.
Xbox Live: CrankyBaby
baggachipz: Who cares about Japan, let them have their silly pointless dog games and countless re-hashes of anime-based dragon princess super lucky crapitty crap.

Gyat Dayum, are we talking about just buying the games or also playing them? Because that list would take me years to get through...
The man wears a bucket of KFC on his head. I wouldn't expect anything less. - Pred
I would them I labeled an' buy them I didna. A lot o' them depend on th' reviews. If unfavorable I`ll drop Naruto, Mass Effect, Witcher, BF: Bad Company, Geo Wars, Orcs & Elves, Contra 4, Neves, FMA, Soul Nomad, Area 51, Tarr Chronicles, an' Zelda. 't jus' depends on how good th' game be.

The Job part of GWJ has been much more prominent that the Game part. So between work, trying to get published/tenure and buying a house, my gaming hours have been close to zero for a while. My stress levels have been up, so I'm going to schedule in some gaming time to help w/ that, but it will till be minimal.
That said, my fall lineup is:
Orange Box & as many hours of TF2 as I can swing
Bioshock (behind the curve on this one)
and finishing S.T.A.L.K.E.R., which is a big kick the pants.

Everything is a definite buy unless otherwise marked. Anything noted as a possible rental might just get lost in the shuffle unless impressions here and general reviews say it's excellent.
September:
Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts
World in Conflict (PC, Might skip it. It's losing out already to the beta of TF2.)
Halo 3
October:
PGR4 (Not a september release!)
Ace Combat 6
Guitar Hero 3
AA: True Soldiers (360, Possible Rental)
Need for Speed: Pro Street (Definite Rental)
Virtua Fighter 5
The Orange Box (PC)
Flatout: Ultimate Carnage (Rental all the way)
November:
Assassin's Creed (360)
Mass Effect (Almost definitely a Rental, It will be my "Maybe I'll like it" RPG for the year that I play, like for a day, hate the next, and get rid of)
Army of Two (360, Possible Rental)
Kane & Lynch: Dead men (360, Possible Rental)
Call of Duty 4 (PC & 360)
Unreal Tournament 3 (PC, Will depend on system performance with hardware similar to my own rig)
Crysis
Supreme Commander: Forged Allegiance
And that's all I can find at the moment, though I feel like I'm missing one or two things.
XBLive: Thin J
PSN: Thin_J
I don't imagine master craftsmen leaping away from completed projects and shouting "Done, motherf*ckers! - 1Dgaf
Hmmm.
Rock Band
Hellgate: London
Mass Effect
GH3 (probably)
Also gotta tackle NHL08 and NBA2k8 for a website, but I'm not paying for those, so they probably don't count.
There's other stuff I'd like to play (CoD4, for example), but I think playing through more than a game a month, with the spare time I have, probably isn't realistic.
---Todd
The Nut and the Feisty Weasel: A place where a deranged Ohio State Buckeye and a rabid Michigan Wolverine fan come together... and air grievances.
Spore Page
Some of them, like crysis, I'll try the beta first. To me, it is a good way to find out what I like before shelling out the cash.
Man that's alot of games. I'm actually into to getting the WiiZapper and the lightgun-esque games coming out for it barring really bad reviews.
Probably a few others too from among games like CRysis, Mario, Hellgate, Quake Wars, Phantom Hourglass, ...
Assassin's Creed
Haze
Halo 3
Mass Effect (isn't this next year?)
Call of Duty 4
Ace Combat 6
...aaand I think that's it. Maybe Eternal Sonata if I want my RPG fix.
Yet even then we ran like the wind,
whilst our laughter echoed under cerulean skies...
HELLGATE: LONDON!
...even though I'm still not in the beta despite preordering virtually the day preorders went live...
Other than that, FFIV DS if that's released here this year, and possibly Guitar Hero 3. That's all for me.
Here's my list...great year for gaming!

We'll see what I/the wallet can handle.
MrDeVil909: I feel it necessary to point out that there are drug resistant strains of most STDs. Especially in developing nations.
Funkenpants: Great. Yet another area in which we're losing our lead to foreigners.
Ok, so are we all total slaves to hype or what? I can't remember a time in recent history where so many quality games were coming out at once across nearly every system. In fact, the last couple of years have been more blah than anything else. What's up with this?

When you see the same 8-10 games being listed by many/most of the people here, we're just self-reinforcing the hype.

It's an unusually strong holiday season. We've seen it coming all year. Even with some big delays (GTA4, Spore, etc) and some smaller-profile but killer game delays (Left 4 Dead, Frontlines, Mercenaries, etc), it's still a tidal wave of big-time games. The three "next-gen" consoles hitting their strides plus a somewhat resurgent PC platform equals a big Christmas.
