Halo 3 Pre-Release / Non Spoiler Catch All

Rather than revive one of more specific Halo 3 related threads, I figured it was time that we have a catch all thread for sharing and discussing all the pre-release hype and info on the game that will be flooding the internet over the next week. Perhaps once the game is out we'll want separate threads for spoiler laden campaign discussion and general discusion/multiplayer chatter, but for now hopefully this will help keep the forum clean.
To start with, I bring two (and a half) items to the table:
Part 1 of a three part walkthrough of Forge, hosted by Bungie themselves.
A preview and an interview about new bungie.net features that will be rolling out with Halo 3.
If you read that second piece closely, you'll see that one of the screenshots has the names of all the multiplayer maps. It looks like IGN has the reveal on one that had previously been kept secret, called Isolation.
Edit: Gamespot has the reveal on another new map, Construct. As with IGN's look at Isolation, the screencaps also feature a few new armor permutations.

Honestly, it won't be as useful to us as it would be for other groups, since we have our own forums. However, if we can get all our active Halo 3 players to join the group it will provide a handy hub for viewing GWJ player stats and (more importantly) sharing gametypes, custom maps, saved films, and screenshots. As you may or may not be aware, not only will Halo 3 feature a file sharing utility, but you will be able to go to any player's profile on bungie.net, browse the contents of their share, and queue up items to be downloaded to your system the next time you log in to Halo 3.
Edit: I guess it probably goes without saying, but please don't post any campaign spoilers here, yeah?
If you're doing any info digging, be warned that the ending is already out there waiting to spoil.

Oh, you can also see a new armor variant (or a new helmet, at least) in the background of one of those shots from the IGN article on Isolation. It's this one, on the blue dude in the lower right hand corner.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Forge. Sure, I love the freedom and that its included but seriously, the folks at Bungie know what they're doing. It'll be hard to come up with a game variant that tops good ole' CTF.

Anyone know of any website would aggregate all of the midnite madness events info? I am trying to find stores in my area which would hold such events.

Just about all Gamestop/EB locations should be doing it. Beyond that, there have been rumors of Best Buy also doing it at some locations, and of course if you have a 24 hour Walmart or Target, that would be a good bet as well. I haven't heard of a central website, though, but it should be easy enough to find somewhere nearby with just a few phone calls.

The only thing I know about this game is that for some unknown reason, my desire to play it has reached a fever pitch. I've put myself on a media blackout regarding this game like I did with BioShock. Yet I can't stop listening to the soundtracks, I just re-read The Fall of Reach, I just finished re-playing the first Halo on Saturday night, I'm playing through Halo 2 now, which despite my buying at the midnight opening at Gamestop when it came out, I never finished.
I really cannot understand why I am so amped about this game, I have no reason to be. I even came close to buying the Halo 3 Xbox which would have been one of the stupidest things I've done this year and that's saying something.
And I am seriously anticipating the multiplayer with it despite the fact that I never played Halo 2 over Live and in fact my only recent Halo multiplayer experience was the recent beta.
I think the marketing effected me without my even paying attention to it.

Some of the Bungie devs and the Miami Dolphins will be down here autographing the game and stuff at midnight. Maybe I can get in with a fake press pass and get a quick interview with the Bungie guys.

If you have a choice, I suggest a freestanding store as opposed to one in a mall. Some mall shops are having their midnight madness canceled or put in jeopardy because of issues with the mall and security.
I'm going to a mall so I hope my local event doesn't get nixed.

I'm really glad that I got the Liongames deal on this, but I also can't help but be a little sad that I will be looking at my friends list next week and seeing most of you playing Halo 3, while I wait patiently for it to arrive on my doorstep.
