Official GWJ NHL08 League - Started!
Alrighty, let's kick this sh*t in gear. I'm hopping into the decision process early and making an executive decision as is my wont: we'll be playing NHL08 this year for the GWJ league (at least, the one I'll be setting up 
). The reasons, even though I haven't played either one as of yet, are manifest: we'll never convince Green to play NHL2K8, the controls will be less accessible for the non-hardcore player in NHL2K8, and the demo for NHL08 has me convinced that we'll have fun.
So, sign in here if you're committed to being in a league where we'll play a game a week on average. People that drop for less-than-extraordinary reasons will be tracked and killed by wombats and will be christened "Fairy Princess" in their custom tag for a year (right Certis?).
Please claim your teams here as well. I'm all for fairness so it's primarily first-come, first-serve and I always get the Hurricanes because I am The King. Sorry Coffee Grinders, in order to mitigate the typical asshat effects I'll post a minimum tag of Intern in order to join the league. Exceptions may be made in truly exceptional circumstances (e.g. you can make cogent arguments without the crutch of 1337-speak and ad hominem attacks unless they're about Canuckians, etc), but I sincerely doubt it.
This is a dandy place to discuss settings and number of games so have at it. Green and I will likely fight over the settings, so just to nip that in the bud I am bigger than him and I win.

Of course I'm in. I guess I should go with Montreal... I wish we could do a fantasy draft or play with user created teams with a fixed "budget". But then again, it seems I'm the only one who'd like this. In the world. So I doubt it's in.

I have two RealLife(tm) friends who still play NHL 07 like every single day. My guess is that they'd be up for a league. Is that a possibility? They're very, very good though... So forget about finishing in the top 3.
You'd also have to use simple words and grunts. Unless you speak french, that is. I'm like Shakespeare compared to those frogs.

I would join in, but money for games is tight. What with Halo 3 and my recent purchase of a PSP Slim and games. So I would be all over this. Especially as the EA series is the better series, IMO. But no money right now. Maybe next month.

Just kidding (maybe). C'mon, you know the Bruins (and every other team) can beat the Jackets.
Next year. Or, if things work out and I feel up to it, after Christmas. I don't want to be a drama queen, but I just don't have the energy. I do 2142 and CIV 4 and will do Halo 3 mostly do have something to do with Lampshade, but other than that, at night I pretty much just watch the Sox games or Sopranos and that's it.

I'm such a moody gamer, I'd be up for a game in the morning, and not feel like it in the PM, or not be around because of work and miss games so damned much. I think I watch this league in the forums.
