Guild Wars (any flavor) buddy keys?
Friday, September 7th, 2007 - 8:46pm
A friend and I are interested in trying the game but there doesn't seem to be a freely available public trial option anywhere on the site. I see that at least Nightfall includes a buddy key.
Could I get two trial keys? PM me, if I get more than 2 I'll let folks know so they'll know it's still available.
Also a quick question, does anyone have any issues running Guild Wars on a Vista machine? I have Vista 64bit on my desktop (but XP on my laptop to fall back on)

My googlefu is strong!

Well, guess there's no need for mine then.

That site doesn't actually have keys though. I have the client, and Im sitting at the key entry page, but I don't have a key.
I actually tried to purchase the game in the NCSoft store but both of my credit cards were refused, which is rediculous.
So anyways, I still need 2 keys

No problem, but there should be enough for you and your friend in the PM I sent. The first is a complete trial key from the EotN box. The second is a combination of the Epic Trial Key and Nightfall Buddy Key from the Nightfall box.

Oh, I didnt think my friend would be able to party with me with the other key. If he can, then I'll use that one too.
Thanks again

Still need one? Which type of key did 13 give you? (Which chapter?)

I gave Poly two sets of keys for the original three campaigns.

Cool. Somehow I misread his post to mean he still needed a key. Looks like he's set though.

If anyone has any trial keys, I'd love to give the game a shot before I think about picking it up.

Hey anyone got a Guild wars Buddy/Trial key i can have?,I was wanting to try Guild wars!!!Thanks
Well you can get the original game from Frys for 20 bucks, and I can safely vouch that the game is worth 20 dollars. You will get your moneys worth easily.
It is alot of fun, but if you think it's going to be like WoW or Diablo you'll be disappointed. Basically the game is centered around PVP team play and to do that you do alot of questing to get items or components to make items. The max level is 20, but you can get xp beyond 20 to get more skills. However you can only use 9 skills at a time, but you can swap out in the "hub" area.
It's alot of fun, especially if you have friends to play with.

..................im just wanting a trial i dont see why i gotta buy some discs if you got ther numbe rtell me ill just kindly ask for a Trial code.
1: No offense, but you've been a member of the forum for 3 days, bro. People see that, along with the fact that this is the only thread you've posted in that I can find, and they see a beggar. People don't like beggars.
2: If you have friends that play, why aren't you asking them?

You don't have to, but the trial codes that come with those discs apply to all GW chapters. Most GW trial codes were for one specific chapter.
Also, the disc will save you a lot of download time. So, IMHO it's worth a couple bucks to get a full trial with a key that applies to all chapters.
As AnimeJ points out, your friends may have a trial key of the single chapter variety. They usually come with preorder packs and in the game.
I honestly haven't been rooting around in my GW stuff in a while so I'm not really sure whether I have any trial codes. IMHO, you'd be better off getting the trial disc.
