I just got a PS3, and was looking at downloading Warhawk, but is there any single player component? I am pretty sure the description said 2-x players. I don't really want to have to play with pubbies if I get the urge when no goodjers are on.
That said I will probably buy it anyway, I'm kind of a whore that way. Case in point - Shadowrun.
There is no single player whatsoever. No story mode, no bots, no tutorial. It sounds weird I know but getting into multiplayer is very easy and the game will give tips to assist. I'll check for my invite soon.

Cool, thanks PX. After a little more research, I think I will get the bundle with the headset. I will notify when I am set up, it looks like fun. I hope the headset is decent, anyone have any impressions on it? I didn't see any opinions on it in the other Warhawk thread.
I don't really want to have to play with pubbies if I get the urge when no goodjers are on.
I've played a few public matches so far and I honestly haven't had the same issue I get when playing in a public Live match. There seems to be very little headset usage going on, maybe two or three people in a match will talk once in a while but that's about it.

Also, many servers have auto-balance set on so people are often joining and leaving without you even noticing. I pretty much always hop on a random SCEA server, have my headset off and voice turned down to 0% so I don't have to listen to people. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the game. This is one online game where I actually enjoy random matches.
Games like this are ideal for public matches, as one guy simply can't ruin everyone's fun by himself. The maps are so big, and the gameplay so spread out, a griefer would go largely unnoticed - and since they can't get attention, they don't even try.
The headset is about the only way someone has a decent shot of bothering anyone else, but the tricky blu-teefs seem to be enough of a barrier to keep out a lot of people.

Sounds good Certis, I'll check this when I get home. I think I might just have some free time to hop on the Warhawk (sorry Bioshock, quit being a greedy bitch!)
Just so everyone knows for those who care, there is a server problem right now and ranked stats are not updating properly. Incognito has been fairly moot on the issue and there's no word when it will be fixed or if the stats that are currently missing will show up or are gone forever. I've been playing some ranked matches because the rewards system actually works really well and is well balanced but for now, only the first ranked match I've played has been counted. I got my invite last night, thanks Certis. We shoudl try to get a clan game together in the near future.
Also, you can set the server to auto-balance teams so that should eliminate the issues we had last time.

New to this whole online business (hell, new to shooters, which makes me ideal canon fodder), but I'd like to join in, too, if I may. On PSN as Zyblorg.
Well, I got the game but I haven't tried it yet. I just spent an hour getting my NAT to type 2, but I did it.
Now to play for a while.
Looking forward to getting into the clan now, Certis, whenever you can it's AriesGWJ.
I thought I saw you in a game last night, Kurrelgyre, but when the round was over I did not see your tag in there anymore.
I kind of wish there were some training system in this game, but it isn't too difficult to get the hang of. I still can't get into a Warhawk for more than 15 seconds without being blown the hell up.
I see many good times ahead for this game.
I bought Warhawk this weekend but have yet to play. I did mess around in an empty LAN game to get a feel for the controls. I tend to avoid public games at all costs but it sounds like it's not so bad with this game so I might give it a try this weekend. Any plans for a GWJ Warhawk clan session this weekend?
I still have major issues with the controls. I know partly it's due to the PS3's loose feeling analog sticks (hey, I'm a 360 guy ) but I don't feel accurate one bit. Instead of pinpointing where I shoot, it's more of a "spray and pray" type of game for me. And don't get me started on the flying.
I really, really like it otherwise, but feeling like a retarded chimp while playing it doesn't provide many "wow, i'm awesome" moments. More like, hey look, easy target flapping around like a total noob!
I've tried every control scheme and both ends of the sensitivity spectrum. I've got about 3 hours of playtime so far, I'm going to spend a bit more time with it and hope it helps..

Try playing some other shooters on the console. It's not all the controllers fault.
Yeah, the PS3 controller is far better for shooters than the PS2 controller ever was. Resistance: Fall of Man showed that the controller can perform remarkably well for a shooter. The controls in Warhawk are a little loose and I agree that precision is extremely difficult, especially when it comes to sniping.
I still love the game though. Everyone else is dealing with the same controls so at least the playing field is even. And it's not so bad as to ruin the game, it can just make the few precision shots you want to make more challenging than they should be.
I've been on the fence over this one for a few days now. I haven't played anything on my PS3 for months and I think tomorrow I will get it through PSN. Hearing a lot of good things and it's getting me excited.

I tried the PSN name listed in your GWJ account and it said you don't exist. Can you confirm it for me, exact spelling?
I also think you need have loaded the game up once for it to recognize your account as available for an invite.

It's eerily quiet in that game, but it does seem to allow me to join a buddy in an already-running game.
