I didn't find this posted anywhere else, so feel free to cough me if it is repeated.

I'll admit, this movie sort of came out of nowhere for me, but damn does it look great.

NSFW Trailer (Red Banner Trailer)

Seriously, I wish I was as batsh*t crazy as Clive Owen sometimes....it would make my day so much merrier.

Does anyone know the song that is playing during the trailers?

I don't know, I'm on the fence from what I've seen so far. Over the top action can be great, I'm just not sure they pull it off.

The NSFW trailer makes it look better than the TV commercial. The 'launch through the windshield' still makes me roll my eyes though.

The poster's been up at a parking lot I walk past every morning. Gratuitious everything? Sounds like a good rental.

Just curious, did anyone notice all of the posters for this movie in R6: Vegas? Were those there from the time the game came out, or are they being pulled from Xbox Live in some way? If so, that is pretty clever advertising I must say.

"Bullet proof baby" and other marketing

In the months leading up to the film's release, Shoot 'Em Up was promoted through various subtle means. For example, a promotional poster for the film was inserted into the Calypso Casino online multi-player level of the Rainbow Six: Vegas video game as part of an online game update. It was also promoted in the video game Crackdown in one of the city levels.

I love a good action flick. But this one hasn't convinced me yet. A lot of the scenes looked so fake to me. You'd swear he was being stalked by a trampoline or something.

I'll wait and see what you guys have to say about it.

I'm excited about it. It's supposed to be along the same lines as Crank was last year. I read a blurb somewhere even stating that they were trying for a Looney Toon with guns vibe. Movies like that (dont take themselves serious) just make me giggle. It'll be fun to watch i'm sure.

Dude. The main character shoots the back of a filing cabinet to make the top drawer blast open and hit some guy in the face.

Let me repeat that, in case anyone wasn't paying attention.

Was it the one where they're getting it on and then dude starts shooting people with perfect accuracy, with the predictably cheesy joke at the end? Because there's good quality version of it on the site with the NSFW trailer linked.

I just searched for Shoot Em Up on Youtube and opened each of the seven resulting trailers in new tabs. Now they're all playing at once and the cacophony is oddly harmonic since it's all just shooting and one-liners. The movie sounds seven times more action-packed!

Saw it tonight and it is definitely truth in advertising - it is quite simply a Shoot'em up. Paul Giamatti is brilliantly and devilishly malevolent. Clive Owen is spot on in the role and after seeing this movie - I now wonder if he wouldnt have been a better new James Bond. The movie is way over the top in a Smoking Aces style. It's all about the violence and was entertaining - there isnt a deep storyline - shucks there isnt even all that great special effects - just a couple of fellas delivering some snazzy lines at times. Paul Giamatti's "Guns dont kill people, but they sure help" line along with his delivery and expression at the time may be one of the best I have seen all year. I never realized how useful carrots could be either until tonight.
