Eternal Sonata Multiplayer!
I was playing the Eternal Sonata demo again, and I was peeking through the menus, and saw in options, you can assign different characters to different players, so you can have co-op battles on one system! I never saw this before, but on the xbox live site, it confirms you can play up to 3 player co-op, and nt system link or through live!
I for one love this idea, as it means my "play games with the girl" can now include what looks and sounds to be a great RPG. She will only want to play the girls, and will never play a whole game, but if she is watching, she gets bored, except when the girls fight.
Now, instead of handing her a controller when a girl's turn is up, she can actually have a controller of her own! I applaud this feature and DEMAND it be included in more RPG's.
Anyone else have an ideas for great casual pace multiplayer games with a more casual pace? Most multiplayer games (racing and fighting or puzzle games) are too frantic to just chill with a bottle of wine and a candle instead of another night of HB-No.
Does anyone know if Puzzle Quest will multiplayer on the same system?

AFAIK there's no co-op to Puzzle Quest.
I don't know which version you have (DS, PSP, PC) or what the difference in multiplayer is. I don't believe you can play Versus mode with just one DS and one copy of PQ.

I have Puzzle Quest DS: Two copies.
She wants to play the xBox 360 and will watch me play games, but nothing since Viva Pimp-yata has looked good to her on the system except Eets, and now Eternal Sonata, Puzzle Quest and Rock Band (with mic). She loves to battle me in puzzle quest, and was hoping we could duke it out in the bigscreen.
I just wish it would have a two player screen and let you battle on the same system. Doesn't this seem obvious to anyone but me?

As far as I know puzzle quest isn't on live. It would be silly for them not to add a local versus mode on the 360 implementation. I wouldn't rule it out yet.
You wouldn't need split screen since it is turn based. It would be the same as battling the CPU except you each would control a character.

IGN gave it 8.5 as well. Although they mention that the game can be finished in 20hr... 30hr with side-quests. Looks like it will be 60hr for me.

The demo really impressed me, and I avoid RPGs. The music and graphics are interesting, the storyline is unique, and I enjoyed playing it. I'll probably pick this up used somewhere, as I have no disposable income.

It looks like a great game, I really enjoyed the demo but might just try and pick it up when it drops in price especially when so many good games are coming out.

I'd pretty much ignored this but the video review Edwin posted makes the game look really good.
Still not a must have for me but I would consider buying or renting sometime down the road.

I got to play a bit of ES last night.
I got to say, and I know it's different Developer, but I can't wait to see what 'Tales' group will/can do on PS3 or Xbox360. ES looks amazing, granted the Demo showed case that but sitting through the 10min into... I had my jaw on the floor.

I've played through the first two chapters, and overall I've been impressed. The art design is just stunning, I wish I could move around the environments a bit more and just explore the background. I love the option to have all the dialogue in Japanese, thank you Bandai.
Couple of quibbles, though. I'm not sure if this holds true throughout the game, but the money system is plain broken. With Beat's ability to take and sell photos at an exorbitant price, and items being dirt cheap (ironic since the whole plot line involves the party going to the Count to complain of high taxes) I haven't had to worry about my gold amount.
Although I do enjoy the history lessons on Chopin, it completely kills the flow of the game. You are fighting monsters one minute, the next watching a slide show presentation of "Chopin: The Early Years". Though not technically correct, it breaks the fourth wall somewhat and more importantly, the pacing dies. I have yet to see an exciting slide show. I think it would have been better to just have them be unlockable extras throughout the game.
These are just minor gripes, and nothing that would keep me from finishing this. No regrets with my decision to buy this game.

Just got it this evening and the game is gorgeous. I am really amazed at the amount of beauty that is pouring out of my television. The art direction is so impressive.
I ended up getting the Polka faceplate for my 360. Not the character I wanted but it still looks nice. Thankfully, after playing the game for a while I don't hate her.
I recently encountered one of these slideshows and I was confused. Chopin slideshows come completely out of nowhere and stops the game. And they are LONG... I am interested about his life but I agree that this information should've been separate from the actual game. Bonus content shouldn't be interrupting at random. I hope it doesn't happen often.
I don't regret my purchase though. The game is great.
