You're welcome. By the way, it says you have four versions of some files, with a big old MOD flag. Can you verify you are a trusted player?

I do cheat, A LOT, but I'd be really surprised if that pathetic Pitboss host could catch me. You can still trust me because I am being honest about the fact that I cheat.

Failing that, the file mismatch might be because I bought BTS on Steam.

Good thing I decided to let you Steam cheaters in (didn't lock modified content).

Hmmm.... I'm a Steam member too. Just letting you know in case any weird flags pop up, or it *seems* like I'm playing with fog of war off or something crazy like that

Take me home, Bubbles.

OK, I just looked at the Game One thread, and I get the impression that people felt it was a rather unfair stealth launch. I'm really sorry about doing this to the six other guys who have taken their turn already, but I think it is more fair to make us re-do our turns tomorrow than to have them miss their first turns. I'll be shutting the server down in the next 5 minutes, and restarting it around midnight tonight, so the first turn will be set up for Midnight-Midnight on Monday.

Also, it appears that everyone who has a Steam install has the MOD warning on their logins. It's not really a big deal as far as I can tell, but something to be aware of.

Pffft... Coffee Grinders.

Don't sweat it man. I'll leave your Civ choice in, and just replace the slot with an AI. I'll have the server running again in around 10 mintues, so if you see this before midnight, take your first turm, get the AI going in the right direction.

Good call. FWIW, my starting location looks pretty similar to what it was in the original game 2. But better! Much better!

So then not similar at all. I call Shenanagins on Alien and demand a server re-start.

No, wait, let me get home tonight and check on my starting position. Then I'll let you know.

Bravo, sir. I think that's the best thing to do so everyone can get a fair start in the game.

My starting area sucked anyway.

I had my son log on and take a first turn for Old Man P n, so that I could kick him and make his role an AI until he can come back. That still leaves Scrub, Swamp Yankee, Lampshade and Redhwk to take their turns, with the timer expiring in 29 minutes. I don't know if it will just forfeit your turns, or if the first turn goes on indefinately until you log on. If none of you claim your civ before the end of the day tomorrow, I will be having my son log in for each of you and replacing your spot with an AI until you can join up.

The reason I had my son do it is that way I don't see where anyone is set up.

If the timer is set, turns are forfeited, the game will move on whether or not those civs have been claimed. I didn't double check what happened previous, so I'm not 100% certain if the AI plays the turn or its just forfeited, but I believe it is the latter.

I checked this morning before work.

Everyone who did not take their turn lost it.

I also tested the emailing feature, and it is working fine for me. I have the server logging into an account named civ4pbem, so if you set your details (Alt-D) in game, you can enter an email address that will get a notification when the new turns start.

I'll abstain from rendering opinion on the restart, as I just plain old forgot, so its my bad. Lampshade forgot to remind me, so his too.

Well hell, my opinion is that it wouldn't be fair to the guys who showed up.

I actually feel that majority rules, since the numbers were 5/6 on the first try, I restarted, but 6(+1)/4 I feel is grounds to keep moving forward. The four who missed their turns should be able to recover one missed turn without too much trouble.

We should restart, no worries. Once the first turn is down and we're all researching, missing a turn shouldn't be a big deal - But it'd be nice for everyone to be on even ground in the initial key turns.

Set a specific time for the restart, to give everyone a couple of days to get on board and ready.
