Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3: Lemony Tartarus

I've been playing SMT: Persona 3 for about a week now and I've had a great time with it. It captures a good chunk of SMT: Nocturne's darkly spectacular ambience and wraps it around an intriguing school/social link game. I love the fact that you have to balance your team member's condition/disposition before undertaking exploration of Tartarus, as well as considering your academic obligations before tackling the tower; it's a character balancing act that we rarely get in old-school turn-based JRPGS.

Anybody else enjoying this one? I know GWJ tends to steer more toward the online/x360/tactial online-shooter crowd, but I bet there's at least a few of you out there dining on this tasty pastry. Any closet JRPG fans out there?

Been wanting to try this, but I don't have the money to get it at the moment.

I talked about it a fair bit a few podcasts ago. It easily overcomes my usual aversion to JRPGs with all the interesting non-dungeon stuff going on.

I have it on rental from Gamefly and I've played a few hours, and while I certainly liked it, Bioshock is ruling my world right now. I'll get around to playing it sometime soon, though.

I don't know if I'll play this any time soon... I'm currently making my way through Tales of the Abyss, clocking at 86hours. Looking at the time, I should be near finish since I usually finish Tales game at 95hour mark... give or take. Still, with that, like any other Tales game... it's always more fun to go through it the 2nd time with all the unlockables.
That should take even more time... and then Eternal Sonata will be out, not to mention at-least 10 other games that are must. P3 is slowly moving further down the chain.

I'm going to be starting this up next seeing as I just finished BioShock. I'm hoping it's really good. It's sucks when you go from a great game like BioShock to another and are let down. Art book is nice though!

Well, I finally beat it. Definitely one of the best JRPGs I've played in a long time. If you are going to play it, though, be ready to devote a lot of time to it; my game clock was over 100 hours when I finished it off.

It's on my list....if I can still find a copy after I finish Bioshock, Eternal Sonata, and wear some of the new off of Hellgate and TF2. Oh, and maybe Quake Wars.

*sigh*

I've been enjoying it quite a bit myself. I'm a big fan of all the Atlus games, but I'm enjoying this version of Persona much more than previous iterations. I'm just starting to tackle Tartarus though, only in about 20 hours so far. Loving it and don't regret the purchase at all.

The hardcover art book and soundtrack CD were a nice bonus too.

Wait, I thought the Lemony bit was just Moose being silly? Lemony Tartarus? What the hell is that, like some citrus-flavored dessert afterlife?
