Halo 3 included Jawa Sandcrawlers
Saturday, July 28th, 2007 - 8:58pm
Details from the big Halo 3 issue of EGM have been posted on 1up here and they include some doozies:
Quote:
New Vehicles....
Elephant: A three-story-tall behemoth that's crawling along the sand much like a Jawa Sandcrawler. It's drivable (but indestructible), has a mounted turret, can respawn troops, holds your home flag, and is the return point for the enemy flag. Whoa.
We shall grapple with the ineffable, and see if we may not eff it after all.

I might just keep my reserved copy on order.

But what games don't include Jawa Sandcrawlers these days?

That's pretty awesome.
I love the move toward making multiplayer more dynamic. Personal shields, mobile respawn points, and flashbangs. w00t.

Gonna preorder this tonight... I've held out for too long. I know I'm gonna buy it even if 60% of reviewers say it's crap.

Yeah, it sounds freakin awesome but I was listening to the Bungie podcast today and the developers were saying that most of their games end up with the bases just going to opposite ends of the map. I don't know if there would be any advantage to moving the base during the game...
The article also said something about a simple map editor in which you can change respawn points and item spawn times... could be cool for making custom games I guess...

Two claims that the revamped Brutes are more fun to fight than the elites? I remain cautiously skeptical. No enemy has trumped Halo 1's elites over the past six years, including its sequel. To do so would result in a game so fantastic I dare not contemplate it. Surely these two are biased. This can only be propaganda. Right?

Maybe, but it never hurts to dream.
On another note, there is an easy to enter Microsoft run sweeptakes to win various Halo 3 related prizes that just started. Head over here for the details.
